You Can Get Extra Toppings On McFlurries And It Only Costs 20p

How are we only just finding out about this?

As Brits, it's our God-given right to complain about anything. Even when it comes to the greatest things on Earth, we have to find a fault.

You could go to a nice restaurant and get a cheap, tasty meal, with quick and wonderful service, but if the the urinal cake in the toilet is at an obscure angle... fucking hell, that's going to be the talking point.

One thing that is most certainly not an area for complaint, however, is the humble McFlurry.

Ice cream with toppings: it's a simple enough premise, isn't it? Actually, BRB, just off to Maccy's to get one now.

However, what many people haven't yet realised is that you can actually double up on toppings, and it only costs 20p, as Metro reports.

This rule works on a case-by-case basis, so it depends on which branch you're in, but when all you have to do is ask whether you can have an extra shot in your McFlurry, it's hardly a chore.

"We offer guidance around pricing, but ultimately our franchisees decide on those which are set based on a number of factors," a spokesperson for McDonald's told the newspaper.

"We and our franchisees pride ourselves on providing good quality food at affordable prices up and down the country, and work to keep differences to a minimum."

What a time to be alive. This is a revelation.

McDonald's actually harnesses a fair amount of secrets like this - there've even been rumours that there's an entire 'secret menu'.

A store manager in Scotland previously turned those rumours into fact. And by fact, I mean logged onto Reddit and claimed it was real, though it could well have been a 12-year-old kid just making stuff up.

Believe what you want to believe, of course, but the '24-year-old' said customers can order things like the 'McGangbang' (hang on a minute... what?), which is apparently a McChicken sandwich inside a double cheeseburger.

To be quite honest, claiming that there's such a thing as a McGangbang just makes it sound like someone wants to embarrass people by making them say ridiculous things in public. There's no way, is there? Someone's definitely just typing out their weird food dreams here.

Anyway, speaking on a Reddit AMA under the guise orchidhibiscus, the (cough) 'store manager' revealed: "You can order from the 'secret menu'. The items on the 'secret menu' weren't invented by anyone officially at McDonald's, it's just a random person's guide to burgers you could potentially 'hack' at McDonald's.

"Order one and the workers might not know it by name but if you explain what it is, and are willing to pay for all the ingredients, it's just another 'grill order' that we can make up."

Some of the other secret dishes that are claimed to be on offer include:

  • McDonald's 2 Cheeseburger Meal - Pretty self-explanatory
  • McDonald's All-American - Simply a beef patty, ketchup, and pickles inside a bun
  • Big McChicken - A Big Mac with the McChicken patties replacing the burger bun

  • Chicken McGriddle - American pancakes with chicken replacing sausages or other fillings
  • Fries with Big Mac Sauce - The Big Mac special sauce served with chips
  • Grilled Cheese -Cheese inside a burger bun
  • McCrepe - An American pancake loaded with the yogurt parfait, granola and syrup
