Summer is officially on its way, we have a long weekend ahead of us and Greggs is giving out free sausage rolls - could we ask for anything more?

A bit less rain would be nice I suppose, but we're in England, so we should really take what we can get.

Luckily what we can get is delicious, flaky pastry courtesy of Greggs and Just Eat, who have teamed up to offer the free sausage rolls to customers in celebration of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

Though sausage rolls don't exactly scream 'royal cuisine', they're a staple of a good British picnic or street party, of which there'll likely be hundreds as members of the public mark 70 years of Queen Elizabeth. Greggs itself has stressed 'a party without a sausage roll is simply not a party' when it comes to the question of jubilee party food, so there's no denying it.

Just Eat customers will be able to secure the goods by placing an order through the food delivery service, but as with most freebies, there is a catch.

Not only will you have to make an account with the company if you don't already have one, but those looking to get a free sausage roll will have to spend a minimum of £10 to be eligible - that's about £9 more than a sausage roll would cost by itself.

Of course, any Greggs enthusiasts or those really looking to stock up on their baked goods will have no problem filling out the order, but it's admittedly not the best deal if you just want a single sausage roll.

The promotion relies on participating stores, meaning customers will have to be within the delivery radius of such a store to enjoy the deal, and it's only available while stocks last.

It's unclear how many Greggs stores are taking part, but with more than 2,000 locations in the UK hopefully the biggest sausage roll fans will be able to take advantage.

The sausage roll deal isn't the only one Just Eat is offering this weekend, though, so if pasties and iced buns aren't your thing you might be able to get more for your money elsewhere.

Sandwich fans will be able to get free delivery on Just Eat this weekend on any orders of £10 or more from Subway, while anyone who happens to live in an area with an affinity for regality will be able to get 20 percent off their order from any restaurant with 'Royal' in the name.

The best way to celebrate is with food, so place your orders for the Queen and enjoy!
