The Hawk Tuah girl has shared what she really meant in the viral video after speaking out for the first time.
A video so viral it saw the girl with the gob end up joining Zach Bryan on stage for a country music gig in Nashville, Tennessee, as well as launching her own merch line.
I mean, hey, if you’re going to get your fifteen minutes of fame, you may as well use them wisely, right?
The 21-year-old was pretty hard for fans to track down at first, but eventually she was eventually uncovered as Haliey Welch. Although, she did have debunk a couple of random rumours about herself.

She’d actually assumed she’d ‘never see’ the video of her street interview with YouTuber duo Tim and Dee. But how wrong she was.
Welch had been with her mate Chelsea when they were filmed on a night out in Nashville earlier this summer, with the pair speaking out on podcast, Plan Bri Uncut.
And while her friend admitted she wasn’t ‘prepared for those kinds of questions’ and ‘knew what she was saying’, Welch confessed: “I just said I don’t give a f**k where it [the video] went.”
You’ve surely seen the viral clip by now with her care-free attitude but in case you’re still thinking ‘Hawk Tuah’ is some rare breed of bird, here’s the lowdown.
She was asked by the creators: “What’s one move in bed that makes a man go crazy every time?”
And, complete with sound effects, Welch didn’t hold back: “You gotta give ‘em that ‘hawk tuah’,” she said, “and spit on that thang!”
But while fans may be taking her advice somewhat seriously, she said: “You can tell I’m obviously joking in it. Like, I don’t mean nothing by it.”
So, yeah, it was just a joke. She apparently didn’t really mean anything by it.
Yet regardless, a viral star has been born.
Although, as Welch went on to confirm her future plans, we might not have the ‘Hawk Tuah’ content for too long as she doesn’t want it ‘to be her image’.
She continued: "I don't want to be known as that. It was funny, I was being a little bit of a smart ass too because like you're going to come watch me with a microphone and ask me something like that...
“Oh well, I'm going to 'Hawk Tuah' and spit on it. I don't mean nothing by it."
