When we’re travelling, we all have our own little things and routines we like to do.

Maybe you’re a get to the airport five hours early type of person. Maybe your ideal prep for a flight is a big fry up and pint at the airport in the early hours. And perhaps you’re someone who likes to board at the last minute.

But what about at the end of the flight? Do you have a specific habit for that part of the journey?

Because this man has divided opinion after asking why passengers all do the same ‘dumb’ thing after the plane lands.

The bloke took to TikTok to express his frustration simply saying, ‘if you do this you’re dumb’.

So, picture the scene, you’ve just landed at your holiday destination.

The plane has rolled over to park up. You hear the engines go quiet.

And then it happens, the beep of the seatbelt sign goes off and you’re free – well, the doors aren’t open yet.

This is where it happens, in a common scene and captured by this man, a lot of passengers are suddenly bouncing to their feet, scrambling to retrieve their bags from the overhead lockers. And again, the doors to get off the plane still aren’t open. But you know, people want to get their stuff and will stand there, waiting.

He wrote on his video of the familiar scene: “I’ve flown about 60 times and I still don’t understand why people do this…”

And in the comments, people are very split on the opinion of how ‘dumb’ it is.

One joked: “I love watching them rush nowhere.”

While another wrote: “As a flight attendant I will never understand it either.”

Others even slammed: “It’s a mix of entitlement and unfounded sense of self importance.”

Another joked it’s ‘the same people who get up at 3am to put towels on sunbeds’.

But others are more than happy to go along with the standing straight up and grabbing their bags routine as one said it’s simply because they’re ‘sick of sitting’.

Another said: “Connecting flights, restroom, claustrophobia.”

Others agreed: “Layover flights, you literally have to run to the next plane.”

While one admitted: “I hate the rush but I also hate sitting in my seat waiting for the whole of the plane to empty out.”

And another worker contrasted the others opinion as they put: “As a flight attendant I actually prefer people get off as soon as possible and pack their stuff. I hate when people move too slow lol.”
