Hey Arnold! Creator Forced To Deny There Was A Very Rude Scene In His Cartoon

The creator of popular 1990s cartoon Hey Arnold! was forced to that deny one of the episodes contained an extremely rude scene. What do you reckon:

The clip has resurfaced on Reddit, with users commenting on the fact that the scene could definitely be construed as depicting one character 'eating a**' - their words, not mine.

As you can see from the footage, the short clip shows two people seen through a window frame, just behind Helga and Arnold in the foreground.

There is a character sitting down who is quite clearly eating - albeit quite vigorously - while another character leans on the table behind them.

Due to the way the scene is laid out, it could possibly look like the two characters were... erm, 'interacting'. At least, that's what some of the people of the internet seemed to think.

Reddit users were divided over the scene, with some thinking there was some sort of NSFW behaviour taking place. Others just thought anyone who had seen such an image in a kid's TV show was perverse.

One wrote: "It's just a weird composition of two characters."

Another person backed them up, writing: "But you literally see them from a front perspective a few seconds before."

A third responded: "Yeah but this looks like an Easter egg for the adults to find."

Others were shocked by the allegation, with one Redditor writing: "Two 2D characters moving side/side in a kitchen fully clothed during a children's TV show.

"Obviously eating a** is a natural conclusion lol wut."

Another decided to enlist the help of an unbiased party. They commented: "I showed the clip to my wife who never heard of the controversy before. She instantly said he's eating a**."

The clip has caused such controversy, that a couple of years back, Hey Arnold! creator Craig Bartlett was drafted in to put people's minds at ease.

In an email to The AV Club, Barlet said that he has seen the Thanksgiving Day episode 'a hundred times', but says he 'never noticed the weird tangent of the two characters'.

According to the publication, Bartlett said: "The scene is from 'Arnold's Thanksgiving and the kids are leaving Mr. Simmons' apartment, where his family is arguing at the table.

"That's Uncle Chuck eating a turkey with his hands. I assure you it was never intended to be what the guy tweeted it was."
