There are thousands upon thousands of cities around the world, some of them a bursting at the seams with culture, great bars and restaurants and plenty of sights to see or activities to do.
There might be a few places that immediately pop up in your head, but has our nation's capital been included in that list?
Well, according to travel experts Lonely Planet, Canberra is literally one of the top 10 cities in the WORLD to see in 2018.
Yes, Canberra, the place that has plenty of politicians and Questacon. If we're being specific, it's actually the third best place behind Seville, Spain, and Detroit, USA.
According to LP, Canberra has been 'criminally overlooked' in the past, adding that our capital 'packs a big punch for such a small city'. The site says: "National treasures are found round almost every corner and exciting new boutique precincts have emerged, bulging with gastronomic highlights and cultural must-dos.
"This is the first year that Canberra will host a Test cricket match at the picturesque Manuka Oval, and later in 2018 the Australian War Memorial will take centre stage as it hosts the 100th anniversary of the WWI Armistice.

"Significantly, Canberra is establishing a permanent Reconciliation Day into the state's holiday calendar from 2018 onwards, to symbolise commitment to tolerance between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians."
So, if you're into your cricket or war history then this is the place for you. However, Aussies who know their country well are a bit confused that other cities weren't chosen.
Memo to the rest of the world: @lonelyplanet is full of shit. Canberra is a great place to bring up kids, but ain't no holiday destination.

I was going to move to Canberra and looks like, according to @lonelyplanet, that would have been a wise decision.
I'm still not convinced.

Lonely Planet's US magazine managing editor Alex Howard elaborates on why these particular cities have been chosen, telling CNN: "Whether they've been overlooked, are celebrating milestones next year or have crept up on our radar lately, they all offer compelling reasons to go soon."
Rounding out the rest of the top 10 includes Hamburg (Germany),Kaohsiung (Taiwan),Antwerp (Belgium), Matera (Italy), San Juan (Puerto Rico), Guanajuato (Mexico) and Oslo (Norway).
To be fair, a lot of us have probably not been there since a primary school excursion so we might be pleasantly surprised by how good it is.
