Woman horrifies people by dipping her lunch in the sea to add extra flavour

Who needs salt?

What's your go-to choice when your meal needs a bit of extra flavour? Salt? Pepper? Ketchup? How about sea water?

If the mere thought of dunking your food into the salty, sandy ocean makes your stomach turn, then you're not alone. But one TikToker has tried it, and from the look on her face, she didn't hate it.

The bizarre meal played out in a video shared by TikToker Ariel Mendy, who's no stranger to sharing food videos - they're just usually less controversial.

Ariel has shown off crispy chicken and potato dishes, epic-looking sandwiches and colourful pasta salads, but none has caught the world off-guard quite like her video of a bagel.

Posted earlier in summer, the video showed Ariel hanging out on a boat with friends.

They were clearly enjoying a picnic at sea - something viewers might be envious off, if it weren't for what Ariel did next.

There's nothing like a soggy bagel.

In the clip, the TikToker grabbed a sliced bagel and went over to the edge of the boat where, without hesitation, she gave it a swipe through the water, getting it nice and soggy.

Her confidence in the move indicates it wasn't the first time this method has been put into practice, and after giving it a quick shake to get rid of any excess sea water, Ariel began loading up the bagel with toppings.

I probably lost you at 'soggy', but if you were wondering, the toppings Ariel added included tomatoes and corn, as well as a lump of cheese.

But wait, we're not done.

Before adding the cheese to her lunch, Ariel went BACK to the water and dipped that in the ocean too, before letting the salty sea-cheese water drip over the bread.

Seriously, is this an I'm A Celebrity challenge we don't know about?

You probably shouldn't try this at home. Or at the seaside.

Ariel took a huge bite of the soggy cheese before chomping down on the bagel and giving the camera a satisfied glance.

Needless to say, viewers weren't impressed. The video has since been shared across TikTok as horrified viewers stitch the clip and question why she embraced such a combination, with one viewer writing: "That’s an ER visit in a few days. I know."

Another pointed out that the ocean definitely isn't something you want to include in your diet, writing: "Forget the micro organisms and micro plastics— soggy wet bread?????

After sharing her initial video, Ariel followed up to make clear that she wasn't the only one in her group to take part in the unusual eating habit, sharing another clip of a guy dunking bread in the sea.

Still, if a friend told you to jump off a cliff...
