Woman mortified after turning up to ‘serious work meeting’ in Ali G costume

She didn't have a change of clothes so had to spend the day sticking out like a sore thumb

A woman was humiliated when she turned up to work dressed as Ali G - only to find that no one else had dressed up. Watch the viral video here:

Megan Beaudry - a Canadian living in Scotland - was working at a university where a lunchtime costume contest had been organised for Halloween.

However, the contest was either badly organised or students simply didn't give a s**t about it because Megan said that she was the only person dressed up on campus.

She went all out with her Ali G costume, donning a yellow tracksuit, shades and a goatee; and to make matters worse, she didn't bring a change of clothes.

Megan shared a video on TikTok, which opened with the text: "When you're the only person to take Halloween seriously in your office..."

The video then cut to a clip from a 'very serious team meeting', originally recorded four years ago, in which staff can be seen paying attention to the speaker with their notepads open.

Megan, meanwhile, can be seen standing out like a sore thumb as the camera pans to her in her Ali G get-up.

Damn.

Captioning the post, she wrote: "Guys I didn't have a change of clothes so had to just carry on with my day FML"

The video has gone viral, racking up more than 1.6 million views.

Commenting on the video, one person wrote: "I WAS SO CAUGHT OFF GUARD. I dunno what I was expecting but it wasn't that."

Another said: "Ali G he was needed in that meeting so I see no issue."

A third added: "This is a Pam Beasley from The Office moment."

There were also plenty of people who had found themselves in similar predicaments, and they decided to share their Halloween horror stories.

She went all out as the Sacha Baron Cohen character.

One person commented: "I once did a six hour shift, in a large Sainsbury's, dressed as Kermit the Frog... no one else dressed up."

Another added: "I did this at Barclays. Huge open plan office and there was me dressed in full top gun with dyed hair and aviators in overalls ready for danger zone.."

A third wrote: "I was the only one dressed up yesterday at my work. I was luigi even Mario didn't commit."

And a fourth said: "I went into shop where everyone else didn't put effort in but one girl was a pumpkin so I made a point of telling her she looked great."
