Woman savagely pulls out measuring tape at a club to check if man is a certain height

The move has divided people on social media.

A woman has been seen in a viral video pulling out a measuring tape at a club to check a bloke's height.

There's a trend that has been going around for a while where women say they won't date a man who is under six foot.

There's also a weird trend where men will say they're six foot or taller because they either want to appeal to women or for another reason.

Well, it seems like these two worlds have collided at a crowded club.

As Darude's 'Sandstorm' was playing loudly over the speakers, a woman and man were seen speaking to each other on an elevated platform.

And then, lo and behold, she whipped out a tape measurer, dropped it to the ground and validated how tall he was.

We're not expert lip readers, so it's tough to work out exactly what was said after his height was checked, but you best believe social media had a field day when the footage was posted online.

One said: "She wouldn’t have to do this if men stopped lying about it."

Another added: "Girl is literally checking if dudes tall enough for her... is this how girls are now?"

A third wrote: "Wild, she literally is like a rollercoaster. Gotta just be tall enough to ride."

Unsurprisingly, men had a few opinions on the cheeky stunt and said they would start bringing weight scales or makeup remover to bars.

One person bravely said this should be more of a thing at venues: "At the club entrance, there shouldn't be bouncers.

There should be tape measures, scales, credit checks, FBI background checks, Instagram checks, bank statements."

However, this trend of making men feel inadequate if they're under a certain height has been slammed by a matchmaker.

In an opinion piece for The Star, Sofi Papamarko said it's a stupid mentality to have.

"One of my biggest pet peeves as a matchmaker is when women tell me that they would never date anyone shorter than six feet tall, thus pre-emptively the vast majority of men, sight unseen," she said.

"When I ask these women why they would discount all but a mere 10 to 15 per cent of the human male population, they usually answer they’re 'not attracted to guys shorter than six feet'."

She added: "When pressed further, these women (of all heights, incidentally) reveal they 'like to wear heels' or want to 'feel like a girl', as if certain heights were more inherently masculine or feminine than others."
