Adele addresses viral video of fan 'trying to give her his number'

Adele addresses viral video of fan 'trying to give her his number'

Her reasoning for turning down a fan who appeared to try his luck with her is particularly amazing.

Everything Adele does is nothing short of iconic. But her reasoning for turning down a fan who appeared to try his luck with her is particularly amazing.

During the viral video, the ‘Hello’ singer, 34, walked through a crowd of people during her Las Vegas residency show while one man tried handing over a card with what onlookers believed to be ‘his number’.

The video, which was captioned ‘A fan tried (and failed) to give Adele his number’, quickly racked up over 226K viewers after a live video from @yojorgepreciado was shared to SPIN magazine’s TikTok channel.

Following the video’s rise on the platform, Adele felt it was only right to set the record straight herself for what went down at that moment.

Taking to her show the day after at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada, she said: “Someone texted me something this morning saying that a guy tried to give me his number last night when I was walking through this way,” gesturing towards the crowd.

In the video, which was captured by @Adelettes2 on Twitter, she added: “He wasn’t, he was just trying to make me buy a car from him, [which] was actually what he was doing.”

She then proceeded to tell the audience about how her other half reacted when she told him what happened during her concert.

“I told my boyfriend, he was livid… He was like, ‘that man’s getting put to sleep’,” she quipped.

Speaking of her partner, Rich Paul, she gave him a special mention during her ‘Happy Hour with Adele’ live stream event in October for the launch of her ‘I Drink Wine’ music video.

A fan asked the star: "What are some things you've been doing lately that have been making you happy?"

Her reasoning was understandable.

Adele took a moment to highlight her favourite things, including online shopping, her dogs and a phone app, before taking a moment to mention her sports agent boyfriend.

She said: "And then making special time for Rich. The [NBA] season just started, and I'm actually a really big basketball fan, thank God."

The pair became Instagram official in September 2021, they were seen together back in May 2021 and Paul said in a New Yorker profile at the time that he'd been ‘hanging out’ with a pop star.

In May, the couple confirmed that they moved in with each other after Adele shared a photo of her with the 40-year-old outside of their new pad whilst they held up the keys to the property.
