Anastacia Lyn Newkirk, better known as her stage name Anastacia, is an American singer songwriter who has gained a large amount of success since starting her career in 1983 as a dancer for Club MTV.
Although starting out as a dancer, Anastacia has seen the most amount of success in the music industry. She began working as a back-up singer in 1990 before eventually releasing her own full-length studio album in 2000, titled ‘Not That Kind’. It was the album’s most popular song ‘I’m Outta Love’ that boosted her rise to fame in America, but was also received very well in Australia and around Europe. It was this multi-platinum track that led to her winning the ‘World’s Best-Selling New Female Pop Artist’ in 2001.
