Billie Eilish Forced To Pause Show For Fan Safety After People Collapse

Billie Eilish was forced to pause one of her London shows due to fan safety as people reportedly collapsed in the crowd on Saturday, 11 June.

The singer, 20, ceased performing at the O2 Arena at the weekend after many of her concertgoers allegedly fainted from the heat in the venue.

The ‘everything i wanted’ hitmaker is currently touring Europe on her Happier Than Ever world tour, having six dates planned in the English capital city.

But things took a turn for the worse on 11 June when the Californian-based star reportedly asked the crowd: “Are you all okay? People were fainting and getting pulled out. It’s hot, I know.”

After audience members complained that they were ‘squished’, the singer halted her performance for around three minutes before urging fans to make room for one another.

She said on stage: “Take a step back, give everybody some space.”

“If someone looks a little woozy, just tell someone… Don’t try to save feelings,” she said, encouraging those around her to ask event staff for help should they need it.

Later on, in the show, Billie showed her gratitude towards the personnel at the event's venue, saying: “All the security, all the staff, I appreciate you.”

Reports also suggest that the performer encouraged O2 staff members to hand out water to fans after complaining about the high temperature in the building.

It is not yet clear how many people fainted during her show on Saturday.

LADbible has contacted a representative of Billie Eilish and the O2 Arena for further clarification.

The ‘bad guy’ singer-songwriter is scheduled to be on her world tour until the end of September 2022.

The concert mishap comes the same weekend that a fan fell from a top balcony during Harry Styles’ Glasgow show on Saturday.

The incident happened at around 10.15pm on 11 June as the former One Direction star performed at the Ibrox Stadium in the city.

Police said in a statement that the man fell from the top tier Club Deck into a stand underneath before the show ended.

Around 50,000 people were in attendance on the night, with some saying on social media that the man fell as Styles performed his song 'Kiwi'.

A contact on behalf of Police Scotland told The Scottish Sun: “Officers were made aware of a man falling from a club deck at a premises on Edmiston Drive, Glasgow at around 10.15pm on Saturday, 11 June, 2022.

“There were no suspicious circumstances and the man was seen to by medical staff.”
