IMDb's Top 10 Black Mirror Episodes You Should Go Back And Rewatch

A new series is on the way, and while it may be an anthology series, these episodes deserve watching back

If you're a Black Mirror fan, your appetite will have been whet by the recent cast reveal for season six.

Variety broke the news of some very exciting faces coming to the hit series, as well as reporting that the season would be longer than the last, with production already under way.

It's unclear how long we'll have to wait to watch it, so in the meantime, why not get stuck into some classic episodes?

The dystopian sci-fi show from the mind of Charlie Brooker may well be an anthology series, meaning you don't actually have to catch up with anything, but the best episodes deserve a rewatch anyway.

There's been more than 20 episodes of the show now, and people tend to quite passionately disagree on their favourite, but here's the top 10 according to IMBd's ratings:

. 10 - Play Test (8.1)

As tends to be the way with Black Mirror, this episode plays into our worst fears about the capabilities of emerging technology. In this instance, it's virtual reality games.

. 9 - Nosedive (8.3)

On the lighter side (relatively), this episode is like Uber meets Instagram, and highlights how we can become obsessed with approval and ratings on social media.

Netflix

. 8 - USS Callister (8.3)

Back on the video game theme, this episode stars Jesse Plemons as a software designer who creates an inescapable world in which he is a commander and makes the lives of the downloaded consciences of his unwitting colleagues a living hell.

. 7 - Shut Up and Dance (8.4)

OK, this one is as dark as it gets. I don't want to spoil it, but webcam footage is hacked and the victims are blackmailed by an online troll... and when you think it can't get any darker, it just keeps on going.

Shut Up and Dance.
Netflix

. 6 - The Entire History of You (8.5)

What if your eyes could record everything you see and you could watch it back? That would be cool, right? Wrong, this is Black Mirror.

. 5 - Hated in the Nation (8.5)

Robo bees and sinister hashtags, this 90-minute ep is worth making time for.

. 4 - San Junipero (8.6)

This award-winning episode feels different to most in the series, but in a beautiful way. It's also a love story with a happy ending - but you might shed a tear or two.

Netflix

. 3 - Black Museum (8.6)

If you like a good twist, this is the one for you. Though, as you probably could have guessed, the journey through this museum is dark very dark.

Netflix

. 2 - Hang the DJ (8.7)

. If you want to watch Black Mirror but don't want to feel chilled to the bone, then don't look further than this. While many episodes feel like drama, and some like horror, this one veers towards a rom-com, centred around algorithm driven dating.

Hang the DJ.
Netflix

. 1 - White Christmas (9.1)

At the top spot is this 2014 festive special starring Jon Hamm, which once again packs a deliciously unnerving twist following the story of two men seemingly trapped in a (not so) festive isolation cabin.

Enjoy folks!
