Bob Odenkirk sends emotional message to fans as he says goodbye to Better Call Saul

The show's lead actor posted an emotional video as Breaking Bad spin-off Better Call Saul finally drew to a close after six seasons.

Bob Odenkirk has issued a heartfelt video as his time as Better Call Saul's legendary yet slimy con-man lawyer has finally come to an end.

Odenkirk, who played the iconic Saul Goodman in Breaking Bad and then again in the prequel spin-off, attempted to explain how he feels as the show drew to a close.

"Everybody’s been asking me how I feel about saying goodbye to Saul Goodman and Better Call Saul and I’m not good at answering the question because it’s frankly hard for me to look at that experience and even at that character too closely," he said in the tear-jerking clip.

"It’s too many moving parts and they fit together too beautifully and it’s a mystery to me how it even happened.”

Odenkirk thanked showrunners Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould, telling fans on social media that he 'did nothing to deserve this part' adding that he hoped he 'earned it over six seasons'.

As well as thanking cast and crew, Odenkirk had nothing but thanks and gratitude for fans of the show who followed Saul's journey along with him.

"Thanks for giving us a chance, because we came out of maybe a lot of people’s most favourite show ever and we could have been hated for simply trying to do a show, but we were given a chance and hopefully we made the most of it,” he said.

Excuse us while we wipe away our tears.

The final episode sure packed a punch, with fans rejoicing after another well-known Breaking Bad star returned for the show’s last ever episode – saying they ended up being the ‘MVP’ of the finale.

So, if you haven't seen the final episode of Better Call Saul, consider this your warning: spoilers ahead.

Viewers were thrilled when Betsy Brandt popped up again as Marie, nearly a decade after last playing the iconic role.

One person tweeted: "What a treat to see Marie! I started crying as she spoke about Hank and pretty much didn't stop crying after that point. When Rhea was revealed to be his ‘lawyer’ I burst into convulsive tears. It was perfect. Thank you @BetterCallSaul @rheaseehorn @TomSchnauz @betsy_brandt."

Someone else said: "Final episode of #BetterCallSaul was great. Added bonus of @betsy_brandt - be still my beating heart."

A third wrote: “Did not foresee Betsy Brandt being the MVP of the Better Call Saul finale."

In June, AMC boss Dan McDermott said the network's door 'is always open' for another spin-off, however Gilligan and Gould have immediate plans to extend the franchise.
