Brad Pitt once bid £120k for a night with Emilia Clarke

She might be known for her strategy in Game of Thrones, but Emilia Clarke's plan backfired when she unknowingly blocked Brad Pitt's bid.

We’ve all dreamt of spending the night with our favourite A-Lister, including Emilia Clarke.

The Game of Thrones cast member revealed that she was once bid on by Brad Pitt, during a charity auction in LA.

Though it may sound like the beginning of a cheesy rom-com, the reality was far less exciting as Clarke explained:

The 36-year-old had initially been asked to take part in the charity silent auction, hosted by Sean Penn, back in 2017.

“There was this auction thing that happened,” she revealed on the Graham Norton Show, saying: “They called me and were like do you want to auction something off like an experience…like watching the show [GOT] with you.”

Understandably, the Game of Thrones actor was a little hesitant to take to the stage and this was only made worse when she finally attended the lavish LA event the following year.

Clarke revealed there were an insane amount of celebrities, joking that it was basically ‘the Oscars’ as she recalled the star-studded event.

“I suddenly remember that I’d said I’d auction something off, so the fear grows,” she confessed, as she admitted: “I was petrified, absolutely petrified.”

Fearing the worst, the Mother of Dragons devised a plan where her friend, who was on the same table, would bid on her just so wouldn’t be embarrassed.

However, this soon backfired as Clarke realised who the other bidder was.

The actor soon regretted her plan as she missed out on an evening with Brad Pitt.

“I was like thanks very much, it’s very sweet and then someone else’s paddle went up on the other side of the room,” said Clarke as spoke about Brad Pitt’s bid.

According to Vanity Fair, the ensuing bidding war saw the A-lister offer $80,000 (£63k) to watch the fantasy series with Clarke.

But the bids didn’t stop coming, with Pitt then upping his offer to $90k (£71k) and then a staggering, $120,0000 (£94k).

Sadly though, she didn’t realise in time who’d bid on her and Clarke confessed that she thought her friend was joking when they said about Pitt.

The actor told the audience: “…someone else’s paddle went up across the room, and I didn’t really know and suddenly, it was becoming a bit of money a bit of money.”

“I was thinking this is mental and then someone else said, it’s Brad Pitt and then I went lol” she revealed, gushing: “And then I look over to the room and Brad has his paddle up.”

Despite spending a king’s ransom, the Bullet Train actor was outbid and Clarke never got to have her night-in with Brad Pitt.
