Emilia Clarke has cleared up her Game of Thrones salary seven years after season eight’s controversial ending, and it’s probably not the answer you’re expecting from the star.
The 39-year-old has been on many projects since taking on the renowned role of Daenerys Targaryen in 2011.
However, it’s easy to say that the HBO series was the biggest one. With that, you’d expect the stars of such a popular show to be loaded with cash and set up for life.
I mean, it happens a lot on other shows.

For example, the cast of Friends were each earning a million per person for their final episode.
Then there’s the cast of the Big Bang Theory, who didn’t earn far off that amount either.
However, when it comes to arguably the biggest fantasy show since the Lord of the Rings franchise, that wasn’t quite the case.

Now, Clarke is clearing up a misconception after it was rumoured that the main cast, including the likes of Kit Harington, Sophie Turner and Masie Williams, were each handed $300,000 (£222948.87) per episode.
Clarke told Variety: “We didn't earn that much."
Damn.
She went on to candidly confess: "Can you imagine? I'd have been driving a couple of Porsches.”
However, she did say she earned enough to pay off her parents’ mortgage.
Since the end of her show some years ago, Clarke has obviously been distanced from the world for some time.
And that doesn’t seem like it’s going to change.

For example, now that the spin-off show, House of the Dragon has entered its third season, you’d expect Clarke to have picked up an episode or two, considering her character becomes a staple prophecy in season 2.
But you’d be wrong.
Not only has Clarke not tuned in, but neither has Harington, with both actors explaining that they’ve not gotten into the show.
Speaking to Yahoo Entertainment ahead of the third season of HBO show Industry, Harington said he ‘can’t watch’ it.
"For me, it's just that I've spent too long there," he said.
"And I wish them all the best and I hope - and I hear - it's wonderful and going really well. But I don't think I'll ever watch that show.
"And I don't think I'll watch Game of Thrones again for very many years."
As for Clarke, she told Variety: "It's too weird. I'm so happy it is happening, I'm so over the moon at all the awards, for everyone that has made it.
"I just can't do it, it's so weird, it's so strange. It's kind of like do you want to go to this school reunion that's not your year? That's kind of how it feels. I'm avoiding it."
