Brad Pitt once bid $120,000 (£90,000) to spend an evening with fellow actor, Emilia Clarke.
But unluckily for him, someone actually outbid the Fight Club star.
Now, let’s be clear, it’s probably worth pointing out straight away that it wasn’t the kind of pay for a ‘night with’ offer your mind may have sunk straight down to.
Instead, bidders like Pitt were being given the chance to watch an episode of Game of Thrones (GoT) in the presence of Daenerys Targaryen herself.

With Clarke in attendance, this was put up for auction during Sean Penn’s annual Haiti fundraiser in Los Angeles back in January 2018. Held at Milk Studios, the silent auction was part of a big charity effort to raise money for J/P HRO and disaster relief organisations.

And it seems plenty of major stars were willing to cough up the cash.
The GoT night with Clarke is reported to have kicked off with a starting bid of $20,000 (£15,100), with Pitt said to have put an offer of $80,000 (£60,500) before his final $120,000.
However, an unknown gala-goer apparently ended up winning the bid with a hefty $160,000 (£121,000).

Other guests at the charity event included the likes of Clarke’s co-star Kit Harington as well as Jeff Bezos, Leonardo DiCaprio, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Lena Dunham. Oh, and Jon Snow himself had apparently actually also offered to be involved in the ‘date’ with Clarke.
Following the event, the Me Before You actor hinted to Graham Norton that she had a bit of disappointment over Pitt not winning the bid.
“There was an auction for a charity do that I was asked to take part in so I offered time with myself and as the bidding started I realised Brad Pitt was trying to buy me,” Clarke explained, pretty joyfully.

“I looked across the room and he had his paddle up! Sadly, he was outbid and it didn’t work out.”

While Pitt may have lost out on the night with Clarke, a few million were raised at the event with DiCaprio taking part in the art auction.
Ironically though, those two ended up in a bit of a head-to-head.
The Wolf of Wall Street star had bid $80,000 on a painting by Josh Smith but the Star Wars actor ended up being the one to secure it at $90,000 (£68,000).
Although, there was a second painting available so DiCaprio still got to take one home.
