Britney Spears' ex-husband breaks his silence and claims her children haven't seen her in months

Britney Spears' ex-husband breaks his silence and claims her children haven't seen her in months

Kevin Federline was married to the 'Toxic' singer for three years

Britney Spears' ex-husband says the singer hasn't seen her two kids in months.

In the mid noughties, Britney and Kevin Federline were the biggest celeb couple in the world.

The 'Toxic' singer was in a relationship with the dancer for several years, tying the knot in 2003 and having two children together; Sean, 16, and Jayden, 15.

However, in an interview with ITV — quotes from which have been shared in the Daily Mail — K-Fed revealed that neither of the two boys have seen their mother in quite a while.

The 44-year-old told the channel: "The boys have decided they are not seeing her right now. It's been a few months since they've seen her. They made the decision not to go to her wedding."

He also addressed the numerous nude photos his ex has been posting to social media in recent times, which he says his sons find uncomfortable.

"I try to explain to them, 'Look, maybe that's just another way she tries to express herself'," he said.

"But that doesn't take away from the fact of what it does to them. It's tough. I can't imagine how it feels to be a teenager having to go to high school."

And he said that the protracted legal battle between Britney and her father over her 13-year conservatorship had taken its toll on the family.

Federline admitted that it had been hard to watch it all unfold, and even tougher for Sean and Jayden.

He said: "This whole thing has been hard to watch, harder to live through, harder to watch my boys go through than anything else.

"It's been tough. It's the most challenging thing I've ever had to do in my life."

Eventually, Britney was able to break free from her dad's control, with a court ruling that the conservatorship should come to an end.

Federline said he's found it hard to explain the situation to their sons, but he believes that while Britney's dad was subject to much criticism, especially from her fans, he actually 'saved her'.

He said: "They've had a lot of questions about it. I don't know that I can answer all of them for them but I just tried to explain to them that your mom needed help, you know, and the people were in play to try to make that happen, to make it better.

"I saw this man that really cared, and really cares about his family and wanting everything to be OK. When Jamie took over, things got into order. He saved her life."

Adding: "I would absolutely welcome Jamie Spears back in the boys' lives. Especially if that's what the boys wanted.

"I don't have any hard feelings towards Jamie Spears. People make mistakes. I feel bad for him. I feel like he's been put through the wringer."

The singer says she's 'disappointed' by Federline's comments.

After seeing what her ex had said, Britney took to social media to speak out.

In a post to Instagram, the 40-year-old said she was upset that he had chosen to speak about their relationship.

"It saddens me to hear that my ex-husband has decided to discuss the relationship between me and my children," she wrote. "As we all know, raising teenage boys is never easy for anyone.

"It concerns me the fact that the reason is based on my Instagram… it was LONG before Instagram… I gave them everything. Only one word: HURTFUL… I’ll say it… my mother told me, ‘you should give them to their dad’… I’m sharing this because I can…"
