Demi Lovato Tweeted About Singing At The Superbowl Ten Years Ago

Demi Lovato wowed the crowd at the Super Bowl with her rendition of the American national anthem.

But what's great about this moment is that the artist has been dreaming about it for more than a decade.

A tweet from 10 years ago has resurfaced, with Lovato saying back in 2010: "One day, I'm gonna sing the national anthem at a super bowl. Onnnee dayyy...."

And look where we are now.

The singer has been congratulated on social media by loads of artists, including Niall Horan.

Lovato uploaded a picture of the tweet onto her Instagram, adding that 'Dreams do come true'. Is someone cutting onions in here?

Demi recently performed at the Grammy Awards, which earned her a standing ovation. When you've got the who's who of the music industry under one roof and you get everyone on their feet, you must've done a good job.

It was the first time she had performed on stage since she was hospitalised 18 months ago.

The 27-year-old performed her new song 'Anyone', which she said she wrote the song just four days before she was hospitalised.

Belting out the emotionally charged song - which contains the lyrics: 'Anyone / Please send me anyone / Lord, is there anyone? / I need someone' - Lovato initially faltered and asked the pianist to start from the beginning as tears strolled down her face.

The powerful performance brought the audience to its feet, with some clapping and others wiping away tears.

Lovato soon started trending on Twitter, where fans rushed to praise the singer and her comeback.

One wrote: "This was more than a performance. This was a demonstration of the pain and suffering someone going through a relapse goes through. This was Demi Lovato telling us what she was trying to tell the world, and no one was listening."

A second wrote: "Demi Lovato making her comeback and making us all cry in the process."

Speaking on Apple Music's Beat 1 to Zane Lowe last week, Lovato opened up about the song, explaining: "You kind of listen back to it and you kind of think, how did nobody listen to this song and think, 'Let's help this girl.' You know what I'm saying?

"Because, and I even think that I was recording it in a state of mind where I felt like I was OK, but clearly I wasn't.

"And I even listened back to it and I'm like, 'Gosh, I wish I could go back in time and help that version of myself.' I feel like I was in denial, but then a part of me definitely knew what I was singing for. I was singing this song, and I didn't even realise that the lyrics were so heavy and emotional until after the fact."
