Maya Jama Hits Back At Viewers Who Criticised 'Revealing' Outfit

The presenter had no time for trolls

Presenter Maya Jama was quick to shoot down a viewer who attempted to criticise the 'revealing' outfit she wore while appearing on TV this weekend.

Jama presented alongside Peter Crouch on BBC's Save Our Summer dressed in a flowery dress and looking as beautiful as she usually does.

However, you can't please everyone, and one viewer took to Twitter to complain that the 25-year-old presenter had 'everything hanging out'.

Replying to completely unnecessary comment, Jama wrote: "Appreciate your concern. I am able and allowed to dress how I please. If you feel uncomfortable by my boobs sitting in my dress that's on you sis.

"We're all fighting for equality and similar treatment to our male counterparts. Don't let the side down by hyper sexualising my bod."

And Jama wasn't done yet, to a troll who told her she was 'obese' and suggested she 'go on a diet' she hit back with: "you look like you p**s ash, please focus on your own vitamin intake." Which is a bloody brilliant response, in my opinion.

She then posted a follow up tweet in which she explained that she sometimes retweets the nasty messages she's sent 'not for sympathy or for you guys to get at them but just to remind you that people are MAD on here and more time if someone's gone out the way to be mean to a stranger unprovoked it's a reflection on them not you'.

She went on to say that she simply laughs at them now as she's become so used to it.

Offering advice to her fans she added: "But for those that aren't and if you are experiencing the effects of an unhappy troll just mute or block and try to feel sorry for them."

Bad news for her trolls, too, as it seems as though we might be seeing more of Jama in the upcoming months.

She recently announced that she was leaving her job as the host of a BBC Radio 1 weekly show from this month because it was tough juggling it alongside 'a lot of exciting commitments' that are happening.

Sharing the news on Twitter she added: "I've loved every moment of my time at Radio 1 and I would like to thank the team for their hard work and friendship during the last two years.

"It's been a JOURNEY, Thanks to all you cuties that tuned into the show every weekend, it was so great to hear that we have been getting the largest proportion of under 35s tuning in for our on-demand show on BBC Sounds. So, we are going out with a bang! Love youuuuu listeners."
