If you've been anywhere near Twitter today, you'll know the place is swamped with posts and hashtags about Kim Kardashian 'exposing' Taylor Swift and her ugly, yella, no-good keister.

For those of you who don't have a clue what it is that's gone down, here's a quick recap. Okay so, back in February, Kanye West unveiled a new track from his The Life of Pablo album called 'Famous' which included the lyrics: "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. I made that bitch famous." He then released an utterly bizarre music video to accompany it which featured a naked lookalike wax figure of Tay Tay with her titties out.

Understandably, the 26-year-old was pretty pissed off that Yeezy hadn't called to ask for approval before releasing the track to the world and was left feeling humiliated about the 'strong misogynistic message'.

At the time, her publicist told BuzzFeed News in a statement: "Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single 'Famous' on her Twitter account.

"She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, "I made that bitch famous."

However, it now looks like that statement isn't exactly true.

Sick of her husband being bashed, Kim Kardashian decided to break the internet last night (and guess what, she managed it with her clothes on) by sharing footage of a phone conversation between Ye and Taylor on her Snapchat.

"It's like a compliment, kind of," Swift can be heard saying. "Go with whatever line you think is better. It's obviously very tongue in cheek either way." She adds: "I really appreciate you telling me about it. That's really nice."

In a desperate attempt to stop her crown from slipping, Taylor then posted a statement saying: "Where is the video of Kanye telling me that he was going to call me 'that bitch' in his song? It doesn't exist because it never happened," she wrote. "You don't get to control someone else's emotional response to being called 'that bitch' in front of the entire world."

It all sounds really childish and ridiculous, I know. However, the beef has spawned some pretty incredible memes.

Well played, internet.
