Amber Heard reportedly moved to Spain following her and Johnny Depp's trial in 2022

Amber Heard has reportedly responded to a question about Johnny Depp's upcoming arrival in Spain, where she now lives.

It's hard to believe that it's already been two years since Depp's defamation trial against Heard, which was one of the most-covered court cases ever.

After meeting in 2009, the pair got married in 2015 and then divorced in 2017.

In 2018, the Aquaman actor posted an online article in the Washington Post titled: “I spoke up against sexual violence – and faced our culture’s wrath. That has to change.”

Although she didn't explicitly name the Pirates of the Caribbean star, his lawyers believed it falsely implied that he'd physically and sexually abused her while they were together.

Heard was sued by Depp for defamation in 2022 before she countersued and accused the actor of fronting a 'smear campaign' against her.

In the end, Depp was awarded $15 million (£12 million), later capped at $10.35 million (£8.27 million) by the court. A separate verdict also saw Heard receive $2 million (£1.6 million) in damages.

Two years later, the 38-year-old has seemingly moved on with her life after leaving the US for Spain, with her three-year-old daughter.

El Diario de Mallorca also reported that she'd supposedly changed her name to Martha Jane Cannary.

Heard - who now lives in Madrid - was asked by reporters about Depp's upcoming visit to Spain, according to Hola!.

The Edward Scissorhands actor is thought to be arriving in San Sebastian today (24 September), to showcase his latest project, Modi, at the film festival.

When asked about her ex-husband's arrival in Spain, Heard reportedly replied: "I'm living here in Madrid, I love Spain.

"I'm very lucky to be here, and regarding my past, I don't feel like thinking or talking about it, because I'm happy and in peace."

Heard told reporters back in 2023 that she 'loves Spain so much', adding in fluent Spanish: "Yes, I love living here."

"She is focused on raising her daughter," a source previously told PEOPLE in 2022. "She spends every day with her girl. They stroll around, visit parks and enjoy family time. Amber is a great mom."

Meanwhile, Depp, 61, is also reportedly in a 'good place'.

“Johnny is in a good place,” a source told US Weekly. “He really feels at home in London. He’s happy and busy. There’s been a weight lifted.”
