Andy Dick has addressed the moment he was spotted having an apparent drug overdose on the streets of Los Angeles on Tuesday (9 December).
The American comedian is best known for his roles in The Ben Stiller Show and Zoolander, though the seasoned actor worried fans following his episode earlier this week.
Dick, 59, was spotted slumped over on the stairs of a building in his Hollywood neighbourhood, with his eyes closed, his glasses on the ground and appearing 'blue'.
According t TMZ, someone tried to help the Dr. Dolittle 2 star back up, with another shouting for a medication called Narcan, which is known for its ability to reverse opioid overdoses.
Advert
The publication reported that someone had the antidote for the rumoured drug overdose and administered it, with the comedian regaining consciousness shortly afterwards.
It was said that first responders were called to treat an overdose, according to a statement from the LA Fire Department to TMZ, though the comedian didn't go to hospital for further tests.

Dick has since told the publication that he's 'alive and relieved he's okay' after the scary incident on Tuesday, though he didn't clarify what happened or what he could have taken prior to his collapse.
Local security guard Shawn Harrell, who works in the area, told the New York Post that Dick was 'turning blue', believing that he had died, explaining: “When I saw him first he was down, slumped over, and they pushed him up a little bit and he fell backwards. When they finally got him up his face and hands were blue.”
This isn't the first time the comedian has opened up on his struggles with substance use, having spoken about his battle with alcohol and drug addiction with Vice back in 2016.
At that point, the actor admitted that he tried to go sober 20 times by the end of 2014, revealing: “I had to stop drinking, or I was going to die,
“I could see it very clearly. I was bleeding out of my a**. I was going to die.”

Dick said that it didn't matter if he was anxious, happy or sad, the answer was always drinking.
“Without drugs or alcohol, I was depressed, frustrated, angry,” he admitted.
Sadly, the Zoolander actor claimed that he struggled to get help at the time as rehabilitation facilities refused to take him in, claiming some would 'hang up' when they heard it was him calling.
“No one wanted to help me because I was unhelpable. Why would they bring me in just to have me die in their bed?” He pointed out.
It remains unclear if Dick suffered an overdose this week, though his update is sure to ease the concerns of fans of the actor, who are still trying to find answers.
