Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s daughter legally changes name days after brother
Last month, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s eldest daughter, Zahara graduated from Spelman College.
But while the 21-year-old was listed as ‘Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt’ by the university, she was introduced as just Zahara Marley Jolie as she took to the stage to collect her diploma.
And now, in a move similar to some of her other siblings, it’s reported that she has made this change to her name legal.
Maddox is said to have officially petitioned to drop the ‘Pitt’ from his double-barrelled last name earlier this month, with Shiloh having done the same a few years ago when she turned 18.

Documents obtained by PEOPLE yesterday (9 June) reportedly show that Zahara filed a petition to also lose ‘Pitt’ from her name in the Superior Court of California.
The Psychology graduate is said to have filed this on 28 April, just days after Maddox did the same.
Not only did she make a move like this on her graduations though, but Zahara previously introduced herself as Zahara Marley Jolie when joining the university's Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority in November 2023. That’s similar to how Maddox was credited as Maddox Jolie while working as an assistant producer on his mum’s film, Couture.
And youngest daughter Vivienne was also credited with just ‘Jolie’ in the playbill of Broadway musical The Outsiders, back in May 2024 when she worked as a volunteer production assistant.
Jolie and Pitt share six children together: Maddox, 24, Pax, 22, Shiloh, 22, and 17-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.
So that now marks half of them that have legally filed to drop their father’s name from their double-barrelled last names.
There has long been rumours that a number of the children have distanced themselves from Pitt. And while none of them have publicly spoken out about this decision, the changes follow their parents’ highly publicised divorce.
During this, there were claims surfacing that Pitt was aggressive towards his wife and children on a plane in 2016. He has denied these.
It took eight years for the Mr and Mrs Smith stars to reach a settlement with Jolie accusing him of ‘abusive behaviour’ during that flight to France.
According to court documents, Jolie alleged that Pitt had attacked her and one of their children onboard the aircraft.
He is alleged to have choked one of his children and struck another in the face. Jolie claims he grabbed her by the head, shook her and pushed her into a bathroom wall, also allegedly pouring beer over her and his children.
Criminal charges were not pursued and Pitt has denied the allegations.
