Angry Ginge has spoken at length about his humble beginnings, growing up in a council estate as the son to a single mother.
The streamer, whose real name is Morgan Burtwistle, has been estranged from his dad for years having revealed that he was a ‘racist’ who walked out on him.
Ginge ended up appearing on the most recent season of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and despite your average TV viewer not being someone who would tune in for his streams, he ended up winning the whole thing.
Now though the celebrity has revealed that his dad tried to ‘make money’ off his win, something he has slammed him for and revealed he shut down.

Speaking about his dad on the Off Stream podcast with fellow streamer Tays he revealed that his father would regularly move to jobs to avoid paying his mother maintenance money.

He said: “This is why I repeatedly say he’s not a good man, and this is the tip of the iceberg, he used to actually keep moving jobs so this company couldn’t keep tracking him down so he wouldn’t actually pay my mum anything.
“I also remember as a kid, I cannot count on two hands how many times there would be the back fences kicked in because they were wooden. There’d just be cans of Stella and smashed glass outside, which was him.”
Ginge spoke exclusively to LADbible as part of Specsaver’s Best Worst Team series where we asked about an Instagram story post after his I’m A Celeb win where he reshared a meme mocking his dad for ‘walking out on his son’ now that he’d gone on to win the reality show.
When asked whether his dad had ended up reaching back out he said: “I mean he didn't pop up to me specifically but he tried to get money out of the situation which… you expect nothing less from him really so that wasn't a surprise.

“Then the whole plan backfired so again, another 1-0 to me, we take that every day of the week.
“I mean I’m just kind of happy that no one took his false story on and believed what he said, if you start giving people like that the freedom of speech then we’re in a very screwed up world.”
The streamer however did speak about his admiration for his mum, saying he appreciated the ‘positive coverage from what my mum did’, adding: “It's not also just about my mum, there's lots of single parents out there that have to go through what we went through and whether it's me just reminiscing and going back to the times where our electric could go out at half six and I'd have to nip to the shop and whack a fiver on the electric just to get it up so it'd be up for morning and stuff like that.

“It's nice to look back on and look at the grind of where it all started and it just shows and I kind of take it as a bit of. responsibility and the people that obviously are going through similar things from what I went through, there is a way out you just have to put your mind to it and at the end of the day anything is genuinely achievable.”
Now though Ginge is regularly rubbing shoulders with some of the world’s biggest stars, including managing opposite Micah Richards in the newest episode of Best Worst Team.
The series has seen Specsavers help out a grassroots team that were statistically the worst in the country, Warley FC.
In the newest episode Ginge’s own grassroots football team, Winton Yanited FC, up against Warley FC, managed by England-international Richards.

When asked about the work Specsavers are doing on the series, Ginge said: “I think I just hope that people look at it and it inspires them to get involved with grassroots. I think what Specsavers are doing there is unbelievable.
“It's giving, you know, I do my team to give my lads the opportunities, but they're doing it to give other people the opportunities.
“Like them lads in Warley that played us would never have thought James Milner would have turned up to a training session. They never have thought Micah Richards would be their assistant manager.
“It just shows that yes, you might you might only be playing grassroots, but there's opportunities there and at the end of the day just give it your best shot and you never know what could.”
