YouTuber Angry Ginge has been named a favourite to win I’m A Celeb ahead of the show’s kick-off this Sunday (16 November).

The content creator is joined by a host of other celebrities on the 2025 edition of the show, including Alex Scott, Jack Osbourne, Martin Kemp, and rapper Aitch.

While many have criticised the line-up and hit out at a brand-new rule brought in for this year’s edition, the TV show is still sure to be one of the most watched on ITV this year.

Ginge will be looking to follow the example of GK Barry from last year in being the latest social media personality to find mainstream success via an appearance on the reality show.

One aspect that is certain to resonate with viewers however is the familial hardships that the YouTube creator and Twitch streamer overcame on his path to success.

Angry Ginge’s real name is Morgan Burtwistle, with the creator becoming famous for his football and FIFA related content on Twitch and YouTube.

The Mancunian has spoken in the past about his fraught relationship with his dad, claiming on his podcast that his father is ‘racist’.

He said in an appearance on the Off Stream podcast: “Growing up my dad was a massive racist. It’s only once I’ve grown up I’ve saw this back now. But obviously when I’m seeing him I’m picking bits up [as a child].”

He clarified that he hadn’t said or done anything ‘stupid’ as a result of this, but added: “Now that I’m older I notice it.”

This included stating that his father’s name on Call of Duty included a racial slur.

In another appearance on the podcast, the streamer recounted how as a child his dad had dragged his mum to court in order to try and have Ginge's name changed.

His mum lost the case, leading to his name being changed from Morgan Sam Lee Burtwistle to Morgan Sam Lee Burtwistle Smith.

He stated that when he got older he ‘got rid of that’, adding that his father would avoid paying his mum child maintenance payments, saying: “This is why I repeatedly say he’s not a good man, and this is the tip of the iceberg, he used to actually keep moving jobs so this company couldn’t keep tracking him down so he wouldn’t actually pay my mum anything.

“I also remember as a kid, I cannot count on two hands how many times there would be the back fences kicked in because they were wooden. There’d just be cans of Stella and smashed glass outside, which was him.

“In the middle of the night he just came to the house… he just picked a brick up and threw it through the window, then the next day had the balls to come and try and see me.”

Speaking about his upbringing with indy100, he said he thinks his content resonates because ‘people can relate that I've come from the same place they've come from.’

He added: “I've come from a council estate and I know what they go through and have been through and can bond with them and get to know them more on a personal level.”

According to Sky Bet Angry Ginge is 3/1 to win the show, the highest odds of any of the contestants.
