A Big Brother star was left hospitalised with her bone exposed after a vicious attack from her XL bully dog.
The powerful breed was eventually banned in 2023 following a spate of attacks, which included the deaths of several children, with only those who have a valid certificate of exemption permitted to keep them.
It also became an offence to breed the dog, let it loose in public or walk it without a muzzle, with the sheer size of the dog meaning that it was capable of doing serious damage to people if left to roam free without any form of training.
Unfortunately, some dogs will be reactive and can bite seemingly without warning, especially if you're not able to spot their subtle signs of distress, and that unfortunately led to former Big Brother contestant Aisleyne Horgan Wallace suffering a serious injury recently.

The reality TV star took to social media to share a recent experience with her XL bully, alongside a picture of the two together.
She wrote: "The few mins before he bit me…
“Everyone knows I’m a dog mummy. I love dogs. This dog loved me, then for a split second for no reason he didn’t…
“Please please please understand how to raise and how these babies can switch.
“I’m in agony and scarred for life.”

Aisleyne, who appeared on the reality TV show back in 2006, shared another picture of the aftermath which left her bone exposed, before issuing another update on her social media.
It read: “Thankful it wasn’t my neck or face… Sad I’m scarred for life. Glad it wasn’t a child and it was me… So conflicted.
“Dogs are pact animals they need you to be their leader. It makes them feel safe to know you are in control.
“If you let them do mad behaviour they will eventually execute that.
“Big dogs are so powerful… protect your kids it ain’t a joke.”

While dogs are very much part of the family these days, this is a prime example of the damage they can do in a split second, especially if they're deemed to be a traditionally dangerous breed such as the XL bully.
Sadly, it's not the only problem that has been plaguing the reality TV star in recent days as she also shared a traumatic experience with fake weight loss jabs which left her 'unable to move' earlier this month.
The 47-year-old opted to purchase a dupe of Ozempic online in the hopes of discovering a 'quick fix' during a 'dark' period in her life but quickly abandoned them after they left her feeling particularly unwell.
It comes as duplicates of the newly produced Retatrutide are hitting the black market in the UK, with many desperate to get their hands on what people are dubbing the 'Godzilla' of weight loss drugs, even before it has become officially licensed in many countries.
