Carol Vorderman has opened up about her 'hellish' health struggles that forced her to step away from the spotlight.
The TV star, 64, announced she was bowing out of hosting her Sunday show on LBC radio in October last year, just nine months after she took the slot.
In an Instagram post at the time, she told fans she would no longer be on the airwaves as she suffered a 'health scare' which landed her with an overnight stay in hospital.
Vorderman explained she had been 'working seven day weeks for as long as she could remember' and had become 'burned out'.

The former Countdown star told her supporters that medics had performed 'many scans and checks' which confirmed she didn't have 'any underlying health issues whatsoever'.
Still, she made the decision to call time on her gig at LBC in favour of embarking on a 'slightly less frenetic chapter' of her life.
Vorderman will soon return to our screens as she hosts the Pride of Britain Awards, which will be broadcast on ITV on Wednesday (23 October).

Before she resumed her hosting duties at the annual awards show, she shared an update on the last 12 months of her life - and revealed she was 'very poorly', but is thankfully now somewhat out of the woods.

"This year has been a bit hellish healthwise," Vorderman told OK! Magazine. "I’ve been very poorly, not related to the burnout but something entirely different.
"I’m on the right medications now, but it’s only in the last month or so that I felt I’ve got my mojo back. So watch out, world!"
She explained she has been enjoying a 'lot of mini breaks and holidays' with her pals while she got back on her feet, travelling to the US, France and 'everywhere' in between.
"Going back and seeing old friends has been wonderful," Vorderman continued. "And the right friends, too. I think I’ve managed to drop all the bad ones.

"It’s easy to forget how much your old friends love you. I’ve had messages to say, ‘Oh, come and stay in our villa’, or ‘Come and visit us on our boat’. It’s lovely to be so loved, really."
The mum-of-two still classifies herself as 'single', but the broadcaster previously revealed she was practising polyamory in 2023.
Reflecting on the reaction she received when she shared this part of her life publicly, Vorderman said: "It really did a few headlines and I couldn’t understand why, because at that point I’d been practising it for a decade.
"I’d say I’ve been single for 15 years, and I’ve had some fantastic adventures, and I’ve loved it. My brain never stops, and my capacity for adventure is huge.
"So, I don’t ever want to ask someone else again for permission to do something. It’s just not my nature. I’ve been married, I was happily married, and I’ve got wonderful children.

"I have so much love in my life, and people who will come on adventures with me. I’ve got one friend who goes to the International Space Station every year, so I get a couple of phone calls from there.
"It’s wonderful! And I’m doing nothing wrong, because I’m single."
