Charlie Sheen explains why he doesn't speak to daughter Sami due to her OnlyFans career

Charlie Sheen has addressed why he is currently not in contact with his estranged daughter Sami, after an alleged rift over her choice in career.

The Two And A Half Men star recently spoke to Page Six about his life and career ahead of new memoir The Book of Sheen and upcoming Netflix documentary aka Charlie Sheen, revealing that he's been sober for nearly a decade after battling substance abuse throughout his career.

Sheen also opened up about the relationships with his family. The Ferris Bueller's Day Off actor has been married three times and has five children, which includes 21-year-old Sami Sheen, one of two daughters whom he shares with ex-wife Denise Richards.

However it would appear the actor's relationship with Sami has become strained in recent years.

Addressing the rift in the interview, Sheen said that not speaking to his daughter had been 'awful' for him, but he's hopeful of reconciling in the future.

"It’s awful. I can’t lie to you But I’m almost unrealistically optimistic, because I have to be... there’s always shots to repair anything,” he said.

"It saddens me, but I have hope and I have faith that it can be restored, but that can’t happen until there’s a line of communication that reopens."

Sami joined the subscription platform - which is popular with adult content creators - back in June 2022, shortly after her 18th birthday.

Sheen was initially disapproving of his daughter's decision, telling E!News that he did 'not condone this'.

"But since I'm unable to prevent it, I urged her to keep it classy, creative and not sacrifice her integrity," he said.

"She is 18 years old now and living with her mother," Sheen continued. "This did not occur under my roof."

However the actor later changed his mind on the decision, telling Bustle in 2023 that he'd assumed 'this can only go bad'.

"She’s doing this and it can only be a much more successful and pleasant experience with the support of myself, her mom and others," he explained.

“I have to have confidence and just know in my heart that all of her virtues and all the wonderfulness that makes her, her, come with her. I believe her to be incorruptible."

It's unclear what caused the current estrangement between father and daughter, with Sheen recently telling Good Morning America (via E!News): "I don’t really know what I did.

"That’s the problem. I don't know what I’m supposed to apologise for."

"I have absolute faith that this is not a forever thing,” he continued. “Her and I will work it out. We have a history of that that’s too valuable to let some moment destroy all of that."

Meanwhile Sami addressed the rift back in April during an episode of her family's reality show Denise Richards & Her Wild Things.

"It goes in very big chunks with him," she said during a confessional in the 1 April episode, adding that she'd 'would rather do literally anything else than go to lunch with my father'.

"I think for the first 13 years of my life, it was pretty bad, and then we were okay for a couple years, and now it's just like, okay."
