Love Actually’s Thomas Brodie-Sangster is now engaged to Elon Musk’s ex, actor Talulah Riley.

The couple met while working on the series Pistol in 2021, where they played real-life couple, fashion designers Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren.

Rumours of Brodie-Sangster, 33, and Riley, 37, dating quickly began to spiral and they were Instagram official by June 2022.

Now, they’ve announced their engagement using Twitter, or should we say using the St Trinian’s star's ex’s site, X.

Accompanied by a cosy selfie with the Maze Runner actor, she wrote on 27 July: “Very happy to share that after two years of dating, Thomas Brodie Sangster and I are engaged!”

Brodie-Sangster also shared a sweet Instagram announcement, with a reference to Love Actually, writing: "Happy to announce that Talulah and I are engaged. Love is all around X."

Brodie-Sangster is perhaps best known for playing Sam in Love Actually (2003).

British actor Riley wasn’t married to Musk just once, but twice.

The ex couple first got hitched in 2010 before divorcing in 2012, only to remarry the following year. But they called it quits for good back in 2016.

"I suppose the reason to get remarried was just because it felt silly to be together unmarried after having been married," Riley previously explained to The Independent.

"You know, it’s like a habit. We were saying ‘this is my husband.’ ‘This is my wife.’ ‘Oh, wait, no, we’re not that anymore. We better be that again.

"You know, it felt silly to go back to ‘this is my boyfriend’ when we’ve been married. So, we just got married again."

And while Riley has found love with Brodie-Sangster, she’s gone to say that the Tesla founder happens to be the ‘perfect ex-husband’.

She explained that during her time coupled up with the business mogul, she took care of his children from his previous marriage with Justine Musk.

"I mean, there were the rockets and the cars, and there were things blowing up… there was a lot going on - a lot that was very stimulating," Riley told The Independent.

“We [her, and Musk’s kids] were very involved in what was going on. It was a group effort. A family-wide effort."

She added: "Elon was great. He had me alongside for all of that. So it wasn’t like I was stuck in a mansion in Bel Air like a trophy wife, which would not have been fun.

"I did, of course, witness that for others. But luckily, that was not my fate. We are in a happy place now, where we’re good to each other, which is really nice. I have here utmost love for him.”

Musk actually responded to the engagement tweet (or xeet or whatever we’re supposed to be calling them now), replying: “Congratulations!” with a red love-heart emoji.
