Post Malone insists he’s never done 'hard drugs' and says becoming a parent changed his views on partying

During a new interview with Zane Lowe, Malone addressed concerns about his weight loss and odd on-stage antics

Post Malone wants to assure his fans that he is fine and being a dad has given him a new perspective on things.

In May 2022, the singer welcomed a daughter with his fiancé Jamie.

In a new interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music, the 28-year-old said his first child has been a huge watershed moment for him.

“Having a baby really put a lot into perspective, and it’s really slowed me down a lot, party-wise, going out and being crazy. But it’s the most beautiful thing and, I don’t know,” he said.

Malone said he was stepping back from the partying lifestyle to enjoy his success and spend more time with his 14-month-old daughter.

“I just want to take some time now,” he said.

“And actually you mentioned all the accoutrement of success and everything that comes with that. Now I just want to take a second and enjoy it."

“I really love hanging out with my baby, hanging out with the lady, playing video games, and in my garage working on projects.

"That's what I love to do.”

Malone said his relationship with alcohol is in a 'good spot' at the moment.

"I have a very hard time expressing myself via recording if I'm not a little f**ked up," he explained.

"It's a good spot now because if I'm not recording or I'm not talking to people or if I'm not doing shows, I really do drink just to have fun. It's having a beer with my dad or with my bud."

During the interview, the 'Better Now' singer addressed fans' concerns about his weight loss and odd on-stage antics.

“I mean, first off, I shouldn’t have to really justify anything to anyone, but I appreciate the concerns that people," he said.

"But then it just goes… It goes from like, Hey, I hope he’s fine. But then the rumour starts that I’m doing hard drugs, which I’ve never done in my entire life.”

The 'Sunflower' singer also reassured fans on Instagram back in April.

"I wanted to say that I’m not doing drugs. I’ve had a lot of people ask me about my weight loss and I’d suppose, performance on stage. I’m having a lot of fun performing, and have never felt healthier," he wrote at the time.

"I guess dad life kicked in and I decided to kick soda, and start eating better so I can be around for a long time for this little angel.

"Next up is smokes and brews, but I like to consider myself a patient man.”

Malone admitted to Lowe that he did used to take a lot of hallucinogenic mushrooms but he stopped because they started to affect his short term memory.

"Maybe it was just a stint of habitual overuse. Daily," he mused.

Not much is known about the rapper's fiancé except that her name is Jamie. After receiving hateful comments online, she deleted all of her social media accounts.
