Yesterday (26 October), Chrishell Stause made the shock announcement that she and G Flip had broken up after over four years together.
The Netflix reality star had confirmed she was dating the Aussie musician back in May 2022 and their relationship was well-loved by fans.
Chrishell announced the split in an emotional video on Instagram, speaking of feeling like a failure and appearing genuinely sad. And it’s been flooded with comments – including a heartfelt message from her ex, Jason Oppenheim.
She of course worked for him (and his twin brother Brett) at the real estate brokerage Oppenheim Group – AKA, on Selling Sunset. And they briefly dated each other, as documented on the reality series, in 2021.

Jason told Chrishell that she and G Flip are ‘both beautiful people’ and he is ‘always there for’ her.

Chrishell and G Flip breakup
In the tearful video, Chrishell shared the ‘humbling update’ that the pair had split.
“We have agreed to treat this public separation with love and respect for each other. That’s not hard for me because I am in love with this person, and I don’t have all the information or the reasons,” she said.
“I’m sure, just like always, with time, you know, you get the lessons you’re meant to get. And I know that will happen and I’m gonna heal and everything’s gonna be fine. I’m definitely never doing this again.”
Chrishell explained that she feels ‘like a little bit of a failure’ but wanted to share the video because she thinks fans deserve ‘more than a cold written statement’.
“I’m a lover girl. I swing big. I miss. Or maybe you don’t miss, maybe these are the life and seasons you’re meant to have with people and I had an amazing over four years with G,” she continued.
“Maybe that’s not a miss, you know. Maybe it’s just coming to terms with it being a different ending than you had imagined.”
Chrishell added that she ‘will always love G’ and doesn’t ‘ever really see that changing’.
The pair confirmed in May 2022 that they were dating and a year later, announced they’d married in a private ceremony in Las Vegas.
Over the years since, they’ve renewed their vows in various places such as Melbourne and Los Angeles.

Jason’s message
Jason and Chrishell’s relationship was first rumoured following a trip to Italy in July 2021. And that month, he confirmed their ‘amazing relationship’.
However, it came to an end before the year was over, with Jason referring to her as ‘the most amazing girlfriend’ he’s ever had.
The pair remained friends and continued to star on Selling Sunset together before Chrishell quit last year.
He commented on the Instagram video to say: “I’m really sorry to hear this. I’m thinking of you and sending you my love.
“You’re both beautiful people and sometimes things just don’t work out, but it certainly doesn’t mean anyone failed. There’s probably nothing anyone can say to make you feel better right now, it might just take some time to process.”
Jason then added: “ But please know that you’re very loved and I’m always there for you no matter what.”
Before her relationship with Jason, Chrishell has been married to This Is Us actor, Justin Hartley. They married in July 2017 and he filed for divorce in November 2019, this was finalised on 22 February 2021.
