Diddy ‘almost killed’ in prison by inmate during violent attack, close friend claims

The friend in question claimed that he was threatened with a shiv while behind bars

According to one of Diddy's close friends, he was almost killed while being held behind bars.

Earlier this month (3 October), Sean 'Diddy' Combs was finally sentenced to 50 months in prison at the conclusion of his months-long trial.

The music producer has been handed a four-year and two-month-long sentence after being found guilty of just two of five charges: two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.

Diddy dodged charges of racketeering and sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, which means that he has avoided a life sentence, though prosecutors asked for a sentence of at least 11 years for the 'I'll Be Missing You' rapper.

Going into the sentencing, he faced a maximum of 20 years in prison for the alleged incidents, which took place over a 25-year period.

Following his arrest in September 2024, Diddy was held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York.

It is infamously known to be a dangerous penitentiary, and a close friend of the Bad Boy Records founder claimed that he was nearly killed in his jail cell by a con with a knife.

Lifelong mate Charlucci Finney told the Daily Mail that the con pressed a makeshift blade to his throat after sneaking into the music executive's jail cell - where he allegedly could have killed the baby oil-loving producer in his sleep.

Speaking to the publication, Finney claimed that 'he woke up with a knife to his throat', adding: "I don't know whether he fought him off or the guards came, I just know that it happened."

Finney has known Diddy for over 30 years, and believed that the incident was a warning instead of a murder attempt, claiming: "If this guy had wanted to harm him, Sean would have been harmed. It would only take a second to cut his throat with a weapon and kill him.

"It was probably a way to say: 'Next time you ain't gonna be so lucky'. Everything is intimidation. But with Sean it won't work. Sean is from Harlem," he claimed.

The issue of violence in the prison was raised by Diddy's lawyers during the trial, with Defence Attorney Brian Steel stating that guards even stopped an inmate there as he was wielding a shiv, aiming to make a name for himself by hurting Diddy.

He has been behind bars at the penitentiary for the last 13 months, with his lawyers pushing for him to spend the rest of his sentence at the safer and less edgy FCI Fort Dix in Hanover Township, New Jersey.

They wrote to Judge Aryn Subramanian, who sentenced Diddy, to recommend the low-security facility so their client can also attend a drug rehab program while being able to see his family more easily.

Finney added: "Sean has kept a lot of this stuff to himself because he doesn't want to worry his family. But if you're in jail and you've been charged with anything sexual it's not a good place to be."

He said that prisoners 'take it personal' when it comes to Diddy's alleged dealings, with his friend explaining: "They try to get what they call prison justice. And you have to understand, we are not talking about a regular person. We're talking about Diddy."
