Gypsy Rose Blanchard has given fresh details about the abuse of her mother, who suffered from Munchausen by proxy and Gypsy Rose eventually took part in the killing of.
The convicted murderer is now 34-years-old, having been released from prison in 2023 after serving seven years of her ten year sentence. She is now a mother, speaking to LADbible last year about how she planned to tell her daughter that she had conspired with her boyfriend to kill her own mother.
In addition to this Gypsy Rose has starred in her own reality TV series and has spoken openly in the show and her on her own social media about the re-adjustment to life after prison.
In a brand-new podcast she has given a stark reminder about the abuse she underwent from her mother ‘Dee-Dee’ Blanchard, stating that she was ‘restrained to a bed with a dog leash’ for two weeks.

Dee-Dee suffered from Munchausen by Proxy, a syndrome in which a person will make someone they care for sick on purpose.
Speaking to Paul C Brunson on the We Need to Talk podcast, Gypsy Rose explained that she ran away from home after discovering that she was not 15 as she thought, but 18.

The 34-year-old explained: “I was going through my mom's purse, and I found my health insurance card, and it said my birthday was 1991.
“And so I'm like, ‘that would make me like 18, 19, not 15’.”
She did this with a man she had met on Facebook, adding: “So, I tell this to him and I'm like, well, that would make me legal. I can go live with you, all these sort of like ideas.”
Gypsy Rose stated that he responded by saying ‘well, if you're legal, then you could just get up and leave, like, you can just leave,’ and she packed a bag and left in the night.
The reality TV star and convicted murderer went on to say that friends of his recognised her and thought she was 15 so called her mum, with Dee Dee showing up and manipulating her by saying if she came back she would be allowed to see him.

Finally she added: “I go back with my mum, and that’s when I got chained, tied… she took a dog leash and clipped it and tied it to a pair of, like, handcuffs and then put it around the bed.
“Whenever I would need to go to the bathroom, she would undo it. It was like that for two weeks.
“She put bells on the doors and then eventually put a padlock on the door, blacked out all the windows with window tint. That's when she started hitting me, though. That's when the hitting started."
The murderer has received criticism online for taking part in a reality show Life After Lockup shortly after her release from prison, but speaking exclusively to LADbible she actually felt it had been a positive experience for her.
She said: “It's helped in certain ways, because I feel like your viewers and the general public may have had some hesitancy about me coming out of prison.

“I think that the show has given viewers an opportunity to get to know me on a daily basis, because they are following my life, and so they're getting to see how I react to things, how I learn things, my joys, my hardships, they really get to know me without us being in the same room.”
When I when I was pregnant people kept telling me: 'You're gonna feel different. You're gonna go through some emotions. You're gonna feel triggered at some point.'
“Then it wasn't until after she was born, actually getting to hold her and look in her eyes and kind of that I have the responsibility to take care of her, that I am her mother.”
She went on to add: “That word changed overnight, and it went from ‘mother’ being a negative thing to a positive thing.
“I looked at her and I'm like, ‘I will protect you. I will love you, I will give you everything’… you will never know heartbreak from me.”
