Actor Daniel Stern has reportedly received a stern warning from police after he was allegedly caught seeking the services of a sex worker.
The Home Alone star, best known for his role as Marv Murchins in the Christmas classic, supposedly landed himself in trouble with the law over the festive period.
While fans of the 68-year-old were watching the bumbling burglar's on-screen antics in the run up to 25 December, Stern was reportedly out in search of some female company.
According to TMZ, Ventura County police documents show that the Stardust Memories actor was confronted by cops at a hotel in the city of Camarillo in California.

He is said to have received a citation from officers for allegedly trying to hire an escort on 10 December.
Stern wasn't hauled off in handcuffs though, as the publication claims he was simply given a ticket for the alleged indiscretion before being sent on his way.

Kann California Law Group states that soliciting a prostitute is classed as a misdemeanour in California, and it comes with the potential punishment of a $1,000 fine or six months in jail.
LADbible has contacted Stern's representatives for comment.

Stern has taken a step back from the spotlight in recent years, as he previously explained that he felt he needed to focus on his family instead of films.
He previously discussed his drastic lifestyle change on his website, writing: "When I was a kid, I was a terrible student but I excelled in all things artistic - theatre, choir, band, woodshed, metal shop, ceramics, and sculpture.
"I dropped out of high school when I was seventeen and moved to New York to become an actor. I got married and was a father by the time I was 23, and obviously had to just focus on my show business career.
"I did a lot of great movies but there came a point where I missed being away from my family. I decided to stop travelling so much, stay home and focus on my family and my other artistic passions.
"The result of that decision is that I have a wonderful family life and this body of work."

The original Home Alone film celebrated its 35th anniversary in December 2025, but Stern did not attend the celebratory events.
Speaking to PEOPLE late last year, Stern explained his lack of attendance wasn't down to any bad blood - but rather because he prefers staying out of the way on his rural farm.
"I don't leave my farm," he said. "It's no offence to the movie. I'm just...a phone call, Zoom call, I'm in. But I'm a bit of a homebody."
Reflecting on the ridiculous success of the Home Alone films, Stern said that he 'loves knowing that everybody loves it', but admitted he can find interacting with fans quite 'overwhelming'.

He went on to say that he knew the 1990 film and its sequel would be a smash hit while it was being shot, adding: "I did know that it was a gem of a movie. John Hughes wrote the funniest script I've ever read.
"I mean, I was rolling on the floor, laughing reading it. It was so funny, but it was also full of heart and you know - the kid and the neighbour saves him and he and the mother reunite...I mean it was so emotional.
"It was so funny, it was so true and so I did know that. I was hopeful that we were making a great movie. I had no idea obviously - no one could - of the longevity of its life."
