Idris Elba had one strange request while filming scene with Kate Winslet
It turns out that Idris Elba has ‘got a foot thing’, as his The Mountain Between Us co-star found out on set.
Kate Winslet was out promoting her survival romance movie when she revealed that Elba requested that she keep her socks on during a sex scene.
“‘Keep your socks on’,” the Titanic star recalled Elba saying.
“I’m like, keep my socks on? Everything else is off. What’s with the socks?” she said on The Graham Norton Show in 2017.

“He was like, ‘I got a foot thing’.”
Elba seemingly confirmed her statement by admitting to Norton: “I got a thing, you know. Just a thing.”
Winslet, however, thought it was because he didn’t like feet - quite the opposite.
“I’ve got very, very big feet and they’re not particularly beautiful feet, either,” she said.
To which, Elba responded: “They’re all right, they’re all right.”
‘Idris loves feet’
“It’s the opposite, ladies and gentlemen,” Winslet continued. “Idris loves feet.”
Speaking of the sex scene, Winslet revealed that she had to take charge because everyone else on set was too inexperienced.
“I had to get quite bossy,” she admitted.
“I’ve done quite a lot of these scenes before and poor Hany (Abu-Assad, director) was really quite nervous and had an extensive shot list and I thought, “We are never going to get this done.
“Idris was a bit nervous too and everything was moving a bit slowly so I just said, ‘Okay boys, this is what we are going to do,’ and we just got on with it.”
