Jack Osbourne has opened up on losing his rockstar dad Ozzy as he revealed he appears to him in dreams and had a message for his son.

The Black Sabbath legend died last year at the age of 76 'surrounded by love', a few days after he performed at a farewell gig.

They said in a statement in July: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning.

“He was with his family and surrounded by love."

There was a significant outpouring of love and appreciation for Ozzy following his death as Birmingham paid tribute to one of its most famous sons as his family laid the singer to rest.

Since then, Jack has appeared on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! where he spoke about the impact of losing his dad, saying it came as 'a shock' and that while they'd known he was 'sick for a while', they hadn't been expecting 'it would be that quick'.

He also recently appeared on his friend Billy Morrison's show on SiriusXM where he spoke about his dad visiting him in dreams and what Ozzy had to say to him.

Jack said his dad 'f**king couldn't stand' people wallowing in grief but he found it 'so funny' that he was having dreams featuring Ozzy, as were his wife and daughters, adding that they 'all keep having dreams about him'.

As for what his dad was saying in the dreams, Jack explained that when Ozzy appeared he was 'laughing' and had a message for them.

"He is saying ‘just stop f**king crying'. He’s laughing every time. Me and my wife, my daughters, all the same thing. We keep seeing him in our dreams laughing," Jack recounted.

Morrison then said he'd also seen Ozzy in his dreams since the singer's death and that he was 'good' and 'not in pain'.

Many people see their deceased relatives in dreams, which therapy specialist Nicole Arzt has said is part of the grieving process and can be 'positive and comforting' to those who are working through their feelings on how to deal with the loss of someone who they were so close with.

She suggested someone seeing their late relatives in dreams could 'reflect on your relationship with them and how their absence is affecting you now'.

They are often known as 'visitation dreams', which are often seen as granting permission to heal from the loss of a family member.
