World's richest actor who you may have never heard of has husband worth over £7 billion

Rich people tend to know, well, other rich people. And often those really rich ones are married to other wealthy people.

The same goes for the world’s richest actor whose husband is worth over a whopping £7 billion.

Now, you might not know who this mysterious rich star is. When it comes to the ‘richest’ actors across the globe maybe you think of the likes of Tom Cruise or perhaps Tyler Perry.

But it’s neither of them and it’s not Dwayne Johnson or Jennifer Aniston - although it is a woman.

Worth more than the likes of Julia Roberts and Sandra Bullock, Jami Gertz has a mega net worth of $3 billion (£2.4 billion).

She’s featured in the likes of The Lost Boys, Sixteen Candles, Crossroads and Twister.

Gertz has also popped up on the small screen in series such as Seinfeld, Modern Family and This is Us.

Back in 1989, in the first decade of her 40-years on our screen, the American married businessman Antony Ressler.

Estimated by Forbes, he has a mega net worth of $8.9 billion (£7.1 billion).

In 1990, Ressler co-founded private equity giant Apollo Global Management with his brother-in-law, billionaire Leon Black.

He also co-founded private equity firm Ares Management in 1997, stepping down from CEO to executive chairman in late 2017.

Ressler and Gertz are part owners of NBA team the Atlanta Hawks and minority owners of the Milwaukee Brewers baseball team.

Forbes has the 63-year-old businessman ranked as number 108 in their list of the 400 wealthiest Americans this year.

He is also ranked as number 437 in the Forbes World’s Billionaires List 2023.

But while Gertz and Ressler may be worth absolute mega bucks, they’re also very charitable with their billions too.

It’s reported that Ressler has donates millions to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, sitting on the boards of both.

In 2012, the Giving Back Fund named the pair as the number one donor to charity of any other celebrity after a record $10 million donation to the Ressler-Gertz Foundation, which primarily focuses on the arts, education, health and Jewish organizations.

Gertz is also a board director for the Melanoma Research Alliance.

People were surprised by the news earlier this year that Gertz is the richest actor in the world, with one taking to X to say: “I’m off to Google first cos this is giving I don’t know who this person is.”

Well, now you know; it’s Jami Gertz and her husband isn’t too bad off either.
