People have called out Jamie Laing after he admitted he tried to have sex with his wife, Sophie Habboo, just weeks after she gave birth to their child.
During a recent episode of the couple's podcast, NewlyParents, Sophie, 32, recalled the moment when her husband, 37, expressed his frustration after she refused to sleep with him.
The pair had been chatting about the birth of Ziggy, who arrived in December 2025, when Jamie revealed he had tried to 'initiate it a couple of weeks in’.
Sophie explained that she had denied sleeping with Jamie before going on to imitate his reaction, reminding him that he had 'stamped [his] arms and legs' and complained about having been 'waiting for a year'.

Jamie then denied the insinuation that he had 'crying' as he asked Sophie to have sex with him. During this interaction, the couple both appeared to be laughing.

Explaining her reason for refusing Jamie, Sophie said: "And I was like: 'Firstly, I actually physically cannot. I have stitches all down over me down there. Secondly, I have to be signed off by the doctor.' And you were like: 'Oh that’s bulls***, always an excuse with you, you don’t have to be signed off with the doctor.'"
She even urged the Made in Chelsea star to 'get on the phone to Tarek [the doctor] now'.
Jamie continued: "Sophie was like: 'I’m not having sex with you, and I’m telling you why.' And I was like: 'Why?' And she goes: 'I’m not having sex because A) I’ve just had my stomach ripped open, I’ve got stitches everywhere. B) I have my son and your son sucking on my nipple every single day. I’m tired, I’m exhausted, I’m fraught. The last thing I want is you breathing on me. Get out of here.'"
She then claimed she had forced Jamie to attend a doctor's appointment with her so that she could confirm his recommendation to avoid sex for the first six weeks after giving birth.
The clip, which appears to have now been removed from the original recording, was reposted on TikTok, with many viewers expressing shock at the situation.
One user referred to the incident as 'horrifying' while another said, ‘Not only can’t you have sex until after six weeks, you also can’t have sex when the other person doesn’t want it.’
The NHS website encourages those who have recently given birth not to 'rush' intimacy but states that 'there are no rules about when to start having sex again after you have given birth'.

Speaking to Metro about listeners' response to the clip, Sophie said: "Jamie and I have always had a relationship based on equality and mutual respect.
"We don’t want our comments to be misunderstood, and whilst they might have been delivered in a light-hearted couple of conversations as per the style of the podcast show, in no way should this be seen as making light of serious matters that do exist for many men and women.
"We always take on board the feedback of our listeners, and we will continue to do so."
