Jelly Roll opened up about some of the difficulties he's having on his weight loss journey as he explained he'd 'lost his way' on the path to his goal and was 'afraid' to step on the scales.
The country music star had stepped onto scales that weighed up to 520 pounds back in 2021 and saw the needle go even further beyond that, deciding he needed to go on a journey.
Since then he's shed over 300 pounds and weighs less than half what he used to, having started with the root causes of why he was eating so much and treating it like an addiction.
He even visited a wellness clinic to get some extra help and made some impressive progress over the years, but in a recent YouTube video he admitted things had been difficult.

“Kind of got off the rails, and I broke my collarbone a few days before Christmas,” the singer said in the video as he explained how it had impacted his weight loss journey.

“I had to quit running, quit walking, quit exercising for some extended period of time.
“I said all that to say, I have, to some degree, lost my way. I’m still about 40 or 50 pounds, maybe 60, I don’t know. I haven’t weighed in. I’ve been avoiding the scale. I’m afraid to see what the scale is going to say."
Right now his goal is training for the New York City marathon and he wants to shed that last 50 or so pounds to hit his weight loss goal, and ultimately he'd quite like to do a 'shirt off' picture.
At the moment he's weighing in at 276 pounds, and since he's come down from over 500 he's getting close to where he wants to be.
Speaking to Men's Health earlier this year, he said he wanted to try and do this without relying on weight loss jabs and 'show people that it's possible' to make it without them.

"Once I started treating food like an addiction, it started changing everything for me," he told them of one of the major changes to his lifestyle and being able to lose so much weight.
During his visit to the wellness clinic he revealed they did some tests on his body and ended up asking him 'how are you alive', which is not an encouraging result.
They'd found that his blood sugar levels were far beyond the normal range and he had astonishingly high levels of insulin.
They also told him that his testosterone levels were comparable to that of a 'preteen boy', so he was put on Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) which he thinks he'll be on for the rest of his life.
It may be a setback, but Jelly Roll is still targeting that extra weight loss and has his goals in front of him.
