Jennifer Lawrence reveals degrading act she had to perform while trying to make it as Hollywood star

You might think that being a celebrity is all glitz and glam, but one beloved actress has spoken out about a specific 'humiliating' experience she had early in her career.

Jennifer Lawrence, 33, spoke about the pressures to lose weight in the most 'degrading' way when she was younger.

Speaking at Elle's Women in Hollywood event in 2017, Jennifer explained that at the time, she was told by movie producers to lose 15 pounds for the role.

This isn't the first time we've heard of actors being made to lose weight for a role, but sadly, this was the least degrading part of Jennifer's experience it seems as it didn't end there.

She was also made to take part in a 'naked line up' with thinner women so that their bodies could be used as ‘inspiration’ for her weight loss journey.

Wow, just wow.

And as you can imagine, this is where the 'humiliating' part of the experience kicked in.

She said: "During this time a female producer had me do a nude line-up with about five women who were much, much, thinner than me.

"We are stood side-by-side with only tape on covering our privates. After that degrading and humiliating line-up, the female producer told me I should use the naked photos of myself as inspiration for my diet."

Jennifer then added that another actress was cut from the project due to not being able to lose weight fast enough.

However, Jennifer told the male producer that it wasn’t fair to expect her to lose that much weight so fast.

But he told her that he 'didn't know why everyone thought [she] was so fat', and that he considered her to be 'perfectly fu**able'.

Just what she wanted to hear, I'm sure.

Jennifer was even asked to work on a pornographic film which she found 'humiliating' and 'degrading'.

This revelation from the actress comes after Harvey Weinstein’s scandal involving claims that he had sexually harassed or assaulted high-profile actresses and models.

It was only in 2020 that Weinstein was sentenced to 23 years in prison for rape and sexual assault, with some of his more serious crimes waived.

Now, the once respected producer is serving his time Mohawk Correctional Facility on just two counts of rape and sexual assault and a further 16 years in prison after an LA sentencing in 2023.
