John Cena has once again made headlines for how he's handled an overly eager fan.

The former WWE superstar has been approached in uncomfortable situations by people in the past, often filming him or catching him off-guard in intimate settings, such as a restaurant.

Cena, 48, has been praised in the past for how he has handled fans in this, the often obnoxious age of social media, but his latest interaction has brought on mixed reactions from the public.

The actor, who has previously addressed how he handles the unwanted attention when he's going about his day, can be seen sitting in a public setting when someone comes up to him unannounced, before starting to sing.

It's an awkward watch to say the least, with a bewildered Cena eventually getting up to speak to the lad, who had a mate behind him filming it all unfold.

Whether it be an attempt at social media fame or just for a giggle, the wrestling icon was having none of it.

Cena introduced himself, saying: “First of all, let me start off with a hello,” before asking: "You like to sing now? for what purpose?"

He replied, saying that he likes to sing in a response that is quiet and muffled.

In response, the Ricky Stanicky star simply said: “I’m not buying what you’re selling.”

Embarrassed, the fan turns away and murmurs a 'thank you' before going on his way, with Cena going back to his seat.

It's a cringe-worthy exchange which can be viewed below:

Cena's conversation with his fan has been put under the microscope, especially following Chappell Roan's ongoing drama with an 11-year-old fan, who was told off by security for allegedly approaching her table at a hotel.

Unlike many celebrities though, Cena doesn't have security doing his dirty work for him, as he chooses to speak to fans directly - a move which many internet users seem to be onboard with.

One commented on the viral post: "People are becoming more and more socially UNAWARE. It’s an epidemic."

Another added: "There used to be an unwritten rule where you leave people alone."

A third fan said: "Cena is dope if you don't run up on him filming and s***, super chill dude if you treat him like a normal human," as a different fan went on: "John Cena being very polite and respectful as always. Why can't people leave him alone and be respectful if they approach him. He deserves his personal time too. Respect."

Many more praised Cena for remaining respectful despite the odd situation, and called out yet another fan looking for five minutes of fame with the video.
