Is it really Halloween if a celebrity isn't accused of crossing a line with their costume?
Julia Fox is the star in the firing line for 2025, as she controversially recreated the blood-spattered suit that Jackie Kennedy Onassis sported during her husband's assassination.
The former First Lady defiantly refused to get changed out of her crimson-stained ensemble after John F. Kennedy was shot in the head as he drove through Dallas in an open-topped car in 1963.
She memorably told an aide who offered her a change of clothes: "No. Let them see what they’ve done to Jack."

Fox has sparked some serious uproar by using this historic moment of tragedy as inspiration for her Halloween look - but she claims she wore it 'not as a costume, but as a statement'.
The 35-year-old shared an Instagram post on Friday (31 October) showing her posing in the gory get-up alongside a lengthy caption explaining why she chose to dress up as Jackie O.
Fox wrote: "The image of the delicate pink suit splattered with blood is one of the most haunting juxtapositions in modern history.

"Beauty and horror," she wrote. "Poise and devastation. Her decision not to change clothes, even after being encouraged to, was an act of extraordinary bravery.

"It was performance, protest, and mourning all at once.
"A woman weaponising image and grace to expose brutality. It’s about trauma, power, and how femininity itself is a form of resistance. Long live Jackie O."
She sensibly turned the comments off on the post, given all the backlash she has received for it.
Jack Schlossberg - the only grandson of JFK and Jackie O - slammed Fox for using his family's trauma as a fashion statement.
He wrote in a post on X: "Julia Fox glorifying political violence is disgusting, desperate and dangerous. I’m sure her late grandmother would agree."

The Uncut Gems actress, who famously had a hectic whirlwind romance with rapper Kanye West, wore the eyebrow raising outfit to a Halloween party in New York on Thursday (30 October).
Social media users have had a lot to say about Fox's choice of costume and her explanation for it.

One person wrote: "Honestly, what she did is beyond disrespectful. Who thinks it's okay to turn someone's real-life tragedy into a Halloween costume? it's just disturbing."
Another said: "Julia Fox will witness one historical tragedy and be like 'Actually it’s about being a baddie with layered grief and rhinestones'."

A third added: "Oh BROTHER what a dorky ass, dishonest defence. Just say you thought it was edgy and realise it’s in incredibly poor taste but thought it’d be 'cool'. It’s lame. And the costume is ugly."
While a fourth added: "That is not something for anyone else to replicate. That was her moment of power. It’s not a f***ing costume."
Others seemed to appreciate the message that Fox claims she was trying to convey by wearing the blood-drenched suit.
"A powerful reminder of how grief can become a form of defiance and dignity," one said, while another commented: "She tried her best to explain it...at least she served."
It appears that Fox prematurely let the cat out of the bag about her controversial Halloween costume, as one fan spotted it hung up behind her in a TikTok which she shared on Thursday.

When a social media user asked if that was 'a Jackie Kennedy costume behind her', the mother-of-one responded: "Omg don’t tell anyone!!"
