Justin Baldoni has revealed why he believes his family were put in a ‘basement’ for the premier of It Ends With Us.

This comes amid the ongoing and ever-growing feud between the It Ends With us director and star and his co-star for the film, Blake Lively.

With Lively suing Baldoni, Baldoni counter-suing her and her whole team back, and a website with a 168-page document detailing the full timeline of their feud, things have got beyond complicated between the pair in the last two months.

While Lively’s civil complaint accuses Baldoni of sexual harassment and running a smear campaign against her, Baldoni accused her of defamation and a litany of other issues.

Family in the basement

In Baldoni’s original court filing, it revealed photos of Baldoni’s family seemingly in a ‘basement’, which he claims took place during the New York premiere of It Ends With us.

Though the original filing simply said this occurred at Lively’s request, the newly uploaded timeline of events have explained why it occurred, and provided a run through the timeline of the day from Baldoni’s perspective.

Baldoni throughout the timeline placed texts and emails, which he believes show Lively attempting to take creative control over the film.

He claims she rewrote several scenes, requested her own edit, and tried to insist he not attend the premiere of the film.

In addition to this, Baldoni claims that Lively organised several press shoots and one screening without him, the director and co-lead of the film.

The actor and director also shared reported emails from his publicist in which she suggests as opposed to him not attending, a staggered arrival could be organised. He claims that Lively threatened to boycott the premiere, and the film, if he attended.

What happened on the day?

The director’s description of the day’s events reads: “At the premiere of the Film in New York, Baldoni is instructed to walk the carpet separately from the rest of the cast.

“He is quickly ushered off the press line when it is announced that Lively is on her way.

“Once inside the theatre lobby, security escorts Baldoni and his family to the basement to prevent a potential encounter with Lively.”

Baldoni claims they were held there whilst Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and the rest of the cast walked the ‘pink carpet’.

He then claims him and his family were taken to a small screening room, separate to the premiere, to be shown the film.

Baldoni shares contrasting pictures, seen above, of his family in a basement room whilst Lively and Reynolds walk the carpet with stars such as Hugh Jackman.

Why does Justin Baldoni claim he and his family were made to wait in a basement?

Baldoni claims the first call for him not to attend the premiere came from Ryan Reynolds.

He made the extraordinary claim that Reynolds called him a ‘deranged predator’ in a call to his WME agent.

This followed a meeting between Lively, Baldoni, members of production staff, and Reynolds, with the existence of the meeting acknowledged by both sides.

Whilst Lively claims this was to outline predatory and unacceptable behaviour undertaken by Baldoni and producer James Heath, Baldoni states that he was accused of numerous actions he had not undertaken, or which were twisted out of context.

In his latest timeline, Baldoni also claimed Reynolds underwent a tirade against him, and that a veteran producer in the room claims to have 'never seen anything like it' in their career.

Baldoni's team rejects many of the claims in Lively's lawsuit, and Blake Lively's team have rejected many of the claims made in Baldoni's.
