There's a conspiracy theory that's been around for years claiming that the famous singer Katy Perry is actually JonBenét Ramsey, a child who was killed in 1996.
The actual JonBenét Ramsey was a six-year-old girl who went missing and was later found dead in her home with her autopsy revealing that she'd been strangled to death.
Her parents would eventually be indicted on charges of child abuse resulting in death before being cleared of wrongdoing, and nobody has ever been convicted as her killer.

Proving the internet can't leave something well enough alone, in 2014 a conspiracy theory started which claimed that Perry was actually this child even though at the time JonBenét Ramsey was found dead she was twice her age.
Perry, who turns 42 today, previously indicated she was aware of the conspiracy theory as in March last year she responded to a social media post boosting the theory by commenting: "Wait am I?"
Naturally this sent the conspiracy theorists into rapturous celebration that the subject of their madcap imaginings had actually responded to their claims and not definitively shut it down.
Perry had responded to an AI deepfake of a picture of Ramsey that transformed into Katy Perry and claimed they were one and the same.
Now you've had your conspiracy enjoyment it's time for the fun spoiler to rain on everyone's collective parade, Katy Perry is not JonBenét Ramsey because JonBenét Ramsey was killed as a six-year-old and it's quite well documented that Perry was twice her age at the time.
During those years she was known as Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson and was living with her family around California, while Ramsey was killed in Colorado.
That's probably not going to do much for the sort of people who are obsessed with the idea that a child murdered in 1996 is actually a still-living popstar, but there's not much sense that can be talked into conspiracy theorists.

There have been various documentaries on the killing of JonBenét Ramsey which detailed what happened in the aftermath of her death, and it's not that she turned out not to be dead, suddenly doubled in age and changed her name to Katy Perry.
Instead, her parents were indicted in 1999, and had moved to Atlanta, Georgia following their daughter's death.
Her mother Patsy Ramsey was treated for ovarian cancer and died in 2006, two years before she and her husband John were cleared of any wrongdoing.
John remarried in 2011, and in 2024 told People he didn't think his daughter's death would ever be solved unless the existing investigation received extra support.
