Keria Knightley has made a bit of an admission about Pirates of the Caribbean after she went through ‘years of therapy’ following filming.
The Brit of course starred as Elizabeth Swann in the first three films from the franchise, alongside Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom.
But over the years, Knightley has spoken out about being ‘taken down so publicly’ because of the legendary movies and how they also really rocketed her level of fame.
Appearing as Swann at a young age from 2003 to 2007, the 40-year-old has already made her name in British films particularly before Pirates with Bend it Like Beckham and Love Actually.

But her role in the Disney franchise truly granted her global recognition and yet while there are talks of a reprisal of the movies, Knightley’s over it.

Speaking on BBC Radio 2 earlier today (3 November), the star confessed to barely watching the work she’s appeared in even if she’s played some ‘great characters’.
And so that includes having not really watched herself as Swann.
“What’s wonderful about those films is they have become people's favourites and they watch them again and again and again and again,” she told Scott Mills.

“I either haven’t watched them, or I have only watched them once, because it's not a particularly lovely experience watching your own face back at you.”
As for Pirates, Knightley admitted: “I have never seen the third one. I saw the second one at the premiere, but I have never seen the third one.”
The Pride & Prejudice star said she feels like there’s just ‘too much face’.
“Really close up, large face,” she added. “It's just, nobody needs to see that.”
Knightley previously said that she underwent ‘many years of therapy’ to help her manage the ‘level of scrutiny and that level of fame’ that came with the franchise.

She once told The Telegraph: “The fame that came with them I just couldn’t handle.
“So looking back, would I do anything different? No, I wouldn’t because I’m unbelievably lucky now, and my career is in a place where I really enjoy it, and I have a level of fame that’s much less intense."
Knightley also added to The Times: “It's a funny thing when you have something that was making and breaking you at the same time.
"I was seen as s**t because of them, and yet because they did so well I was given the opportunity to do the films that I ended up getting Oscar nominations for.”

She also recently told PEOPLE that she reckons her ‘pirating days are over’.
The star explained: “I think I definitely spent many years doing that and, you know, it was amazing and I’m very pleased to have been a part of that, but I suspect that my swashbuckling days are done."
