Kim Kardashian's debut as a Formula 1 WAG appears to have gotten off to a rocky start.
The reality star and business mogul flew out to Monaco to support reported boyfriend Lewis Hamilton at the most prestigious day in the F1 calendar, being spotted alongside sister Khloe Kardashian as well as the partners of several racing stars.
However, the experience hasn't been an entirely smooth one for the 45-year-old, who first divided opinions with her outing and is now receiving backlash for her actions during the gridwalk.
Kardashian was approached by Sky Sports F1 reporter Martin Brundle in hopes of getting a comment or two before the event – only to be met with awkward silence.

After spotting the sisters in the crowd, Brundle made a beeline for Kardashian, telling viewers: "What could possibly go wrong?"

After catching up with the Skims founder's entourage, he asked: "Kim, Martin Brundle, Sky F1, how are you today?" only to be met with a completely blank stare.
She then gave Brundle a small wave, before he tried again, telling her: "Normally people have a quick chat with us."
Kardashian, alongside her sister Khloe, was then ushered away as Brundle accepted defeat in getting the interview.
"Kim and Khloe [her sister] aren't talking today," he added. "Allegedly, they might do later."

Her actions have not gone down well with F1 fans, who believe that she could've politely declined the interview instead of attempting to ignore Brundle.
"No one is bigger than the sport! She’s also representing one of the greats.. It’s not hard to give a few words of your first impression to the entire f1 world," wrote one person on X, as a second commented: "ok lmao kim kardashian surely realises it looks far better to say 'sorry i can’t talk right now' or just to politely shake her head than to have her body guards push martin brundle away."
"Correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought it was a condition of celebrities that to be on pit lane was that they were willing to participate in any interviews by the broadcast team," added a third user.
However, others were more sympathetic to Kardashian, pointing out that she may not have been aware of the grid walk etiquette.

"I’m surprised Lewis didn’t pre warn Kim Kardashian about grid lane etiquette and Martin Brundle interviews," read one more sympathetic response.
"Kim’s publicist should’ve prepped for paddock traditions. Martin Brundle just looked very annoyed than [sic] her team wouldn’t let her talk to him," added a second.
What are the rules of celebrities taking part in a Formula 1 grid walk?
While there are no published guidelines for taking part in a grid walk - most likely as none of us reading them would ever be on there - expected etiquette from guests has been widely reported.
According to The Independent, all celebrities on the grid are expected to speak to Brundle when approached for an interview, given his status in the sport.
This came up when model Cara Delevingne declined an interview when approached by Brundle at Silverstone in 2023, with the reporter telling her entourage: "She doesn’t want to talk? But everybody needs to talk on the grid, that’s the deal now."
