An expert has urged youngsters not to take a leaf out of North West's book by getting a 'particularly risky' body modification.
The daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West is something of a trendsetter for pre-teens, however, a lot of parents aren't huge fans of her style.
For a 12-year-old, she's faced a tonne of scrutiny over the last few months - due to her outfits, colourful hair, fake face tattoos and a particularly controversial piercing.
Her uber famous family members have leapt to her defence, as mum Kim previously urged people 'not be judgmental' about how her daughter chooses to express herself.

And North herself has even confronted critics in the comment section of a TikTok which discussed her daring appearance.
Social media has been abuzz with remarks about the youngster once again this week, as further images of North's finger piercing have surfaced.

A number of snaps have been circulating online, with one showing two silver studs on one of North's fingers and another showing a blue stone in the centre of her middle one.
Another image appeared to show the instrument that had been used to puncture her digits skewering her skin, as North seemingly gave fans an idea of what the piercing process looked like.
It is believed that North has got what is known as a 'dermal piercing', which is a term that describes any piercing which lies on a flat surface of the body, and she was first spotted with it in August.

According to Heathline, they carry a 'high risk of complications' and require 'meticulous aftercare', while there are also a few risks which come with getting one.
There is a danger of infection, rejection, tissue damage, scarring and displacement with dermal piercings, so make sure you do some thorough research if you're feeling inspired by North.
Jewellery expert Nilesh Rakholia, who is the founder of the British jewellery brand Abelini, has further explained why the child star's choice of body modification is a 'particularly risky' one.

He said: "While jewellery in all its forms is a powerful way of expressing individuality, finger piercings might look striking, but they come with added risks that people - especially someone so young - really need to be aware of.
"At just 12 years old, North is still developing, and any piercing at this age requires careful consideration."
Explaining why he believes people sporting dermal piercings on their fingers are playing with fire, Rakholia said: "It’s constantly exposed to knocks, dirt and bacteria, making the risks of infection and complications far greater than with more traditional piercings."
Although the businessman is glad to see the younger generation using jewellery 'as a form of creativity and self-expression', he said it is important that they 'explore it responsibly'.
"Trends should never outweigh health and wellbeing," Rakholia continued.

"For anyone - particularly young teens - considering a piercing like this, it’s vital to use a licensed professional, follow strict aftercare routines, and be mindful of the often lengthy and difficult healing period.
"Piercings need regular cleaning, protection from irritation, and constant monitoring to ensure they heal safely.
"Trends come and go, but safe practices and responsible timing should always be the foundation of enjoying jewellery in the long term."
Rakholia reckons that North's finger piercing has proved so controversial because it is 'unusual, eye-catching and worn by someone very young'.
"Children in the public eye are often on the receiving end of strong opinions," he added.
"While it’s important to approach these conversations with empathy, when it comes to body modifications at such a young age, health and safety must always take priority."
