Anna Faris has discussed how she challenges the 14-year-old son she shares with ex-husband Chris Pratt on his religious beliefs.
Unlike Faris, her son Jack is religious, following in his father's footsteps who devoted himself to God after praying for his son to survive a severe cerebral haemorrhage he suffered after he was born nine weeks early.
Yet, Faris is 'appreciative' that she can have 'long conversations' with Jack on his faith and that he is 'recognising hypocrisy' as he 'examines religion.'
Talking to Chelsea Handler on her Dear Chelsea podcast, Faris, 49, said: “[Jack] is religious. I didn’t grow up with religion. He’s asked me to accept Jesus Christ [as my saviour].

“And I told him I would do anything for him, including this, but it’s going to take a whole lot of long conversations.”
A lot of the conversations appear to focus on controversies surrounding the religion, like the belief that women should not be allowed to have an abortion.
Faris continued: “I’m like, ‘Do you think it’s a luxury that you get to be pro-life? Do you think that’s kind of a luxury?’’ And he’s like, ‘Maybe.'"
“Or I’ll say, ‘What do you think of this mega pastor that’s kind of a grifter?’ And he’s like, ‘Oh, mega pastors are the worst.’ So it’s like, ‘Okay, he’s getting there.’”
Faris said her son is as “solid as a tugboat emotionally” and “doesn’t get easily jarred,” which means she is able to “challenge him" without things descending into an argument.
LADbible Group has approached Chris Pratt's representatives for comment.

Chris Pratt found his faith after Jack survived his traumatic birth
Pratt, one of the few Hollywood A-list actors who is openly religious, found his faith after his prayers for baby Jack to survive his early medical struggles were heard.
He found himself “back on my knees, pleading with God for a miracle," the 47-year-old wrote in an essay for Sunday Paper in December 2025.
He added: “I promised that if Jack survived, I would devote my life to sharing God’s message. This time I meant it."
Jack was born in 2012 and his parents divorced in 2017, which was settled the following year, after being wed in 2009.
Faris has recently spoke about divorce from Pratt
Speaking in June, Faris spoke about the split from Pratt, who she met on the set of comedy-drama Take Me Home Tonight, in which they played love interests, publicly for the first time.
"I was feeling sad. Sad," Faris told Variety.
"I do feel like I had enough gumption, enough of a core, and I have tried to be careful about how much Hollywood infiltrates, but now I've been on a spectrum of fame for 26 years, so I would be naïve to think that it hasn't shaped who I am at this point.
"The scrutiny. I'm lucky that at that time I had my podcast ['Unqualified']."

The podcast gave Faris a much-needed outlet during a very difficult period in her life.
"I wanted, like, four people to listen and to build my own secret community," she said. "I wanted an avenue outside of Hollywood as a way to connect with people.
"The podcast helped me a lot during that time, and it made me think: I know I could be happy if I'm writing, because I've always loved that, and maybe that's an avenue to make money. I was thinking of a version of retirement.
"But now, I feel like the opportunities are more bountiful than they've ever been. I'm just overwhelmed with gratitude."
Faris has since remarried with cinematographer Michael Barrett, while Pratt married Katherine Schwarzenegger, daughter of Arnold, in 2019 after they met at church.
The couple share three children: Lyla, Eloise and Ford.
