Kim Kardashian called out for ‘gross’ pubic hair underwear collection

Kim Kardashian has launched a controversial new SKIMS line of underwear

Kim Kardashian has obviously divided the crowd with her new collection of underwear designed to look like 'pubic hair'.

The SKIMS founder, 44, stunned fans of her 'solutions oriented brand creating the next generation of underwear' by sharing a video of the latest products on social media on Tuesday (14 October).

Taking to her Instagram Story, she posted a jaw-dropping clip of the thong underwear with faux pubic hair. Not that real pubic hair wouldn't have made it much more frightening.

Officially known as the 'Faux Hair Micro String Thong', the SKIMS website says it features 'a mix of curly and straight faux hair in twelve different shade variations'.

The brand also announced the drop on Instagram with a campaign video parodying 1970s game shows.

"Just Dropped: The Ultimate Bush," the caption read.

"With our daring new Faux Hair Panty, your carpet can be whatever color you want it to be."

Many people have been slating the design on X, with one person calling it outright 'gross'.

"Who asked for this???" a second penned, while a third added: "Is everything ok?"

Others, meanwhile, praised the businesswoman for her marketing ability, as another shared: "Smart way to bring people to your website, have them laughing, then them ending up buying actual cute stuff they don’t even need. Genius e-commerce team."

"I love the creative storytelling," someone else wrote.

A third said: "This is just so camp yall don’t get ittt."

In a previous interview, the mum-of-four said the brand was initially born from a place of 'vulnerability' back in 2019.

"It’s just a part of me," she told TIME in 2023.

"I take it really personally. It started off of my body and my shapes, and it’s very vulnerable."

“It started off with simply finding shapewear that was a skin tone that would match my color,” Kardashian said.

"I used to take my shapewear and dye it with tea bags and coffee in the bathtub."

That year, SKIMS received a $4 billion valuation, while their Instagram page is currently just shy of 6.9 million followers.

"Obviously you dream big and you have big hopes but this definitely exceeded everything that I ever imagined especially starting as primarily a shapewear brand," she added.

"I’m also the kind of person where I never get too excited, but there are those moments.

"I remember I walked into some Hollywood party and there were a lot of well-known people and one of the girls, an actress, she literally yelled ‘SKIMS!’ as soon as I walked in the room, and someone just lifted her top and goes, ‘I’m wearing a SKIMS!’"
